Ultimate LV XFL team name! (A little late, but I think worth considering)

Wish I had thought of this sooner.

With STADIUM naming rights selling for upwards of $50,000,000, What would be the value of just naming the ENTIRE LAS VEGAS XFL TEAM AFTER A CORPORATE SPONSOR???  Answer:  Much, Much, Much More!

Stadium naming rights are purchased for many reasons, not least of which is corporate name recognition.  The stadium name is mentioned often in the press, etc. That said, the team name is mentioned ALL THE TIME, box scores, game schedules, news reports, etc. etc.  Probably 100X the number of times the name of the stadium alone is mentioned.   Now here is the name:

The Las Vegas Zappos!!!!

You couldn't listen to any football sportscast, or read the sports section of any newspaper 8 months of the year without hearing the ZAPPOS name.  My guess is that, if available, the naming rights FOR THE TEAM ITSELF would be upwards of a BILLION DOLLARS!

Why squander this naming opportunity on somewhat predictable, mundane names like the "Las Vegas Desert Sharks", when  the "LAS VEGAS ZAPPOS" could generate so much more money????  (Incidentally, I think "Zappos" name also has a nice "ring" to it as well)

Jeff Bezos, if you read this, remember I came up with this idea!!  (FYI, you could also just buy the entire team and accomplish the same thing)

Just a thought, guess I have too much time on my hands...

And you'd probably settle for a modest 10% finder's fee for thinking it up!

I'd settle for 2%, I'm not greedy, and I wouldn't know what to do with $100MM, other than give most of it away.

This naming idea would work easily for some sponsors, like  "The Hard Rocks", "The Gillettes", The Fords".   Not so much for "The Raymond James Financials".

One more "idea"...if a woman's professional sports team ever came up for naming, what could be  more natural than:

"The Amazons"???

Someone could market the hell out of that sports team's name.  Any ideas who might be interested??

BINGO on Amazon.com!!  It seems like a very natural fit.  I am surprised that this level of corporate involvement hasn't come to pass already.   A lot of money to be made.

FYI, about 2002 there was a really bad movie called "Rollerball".  It was set in a dystopian future where there were team competitions in the "Rollerball" arena.  The game was a cross between rollerskating and a cage fight.  The game was based on violence and viewers paid to see the carnage.  If I remember correctly all the teams were owned by and named after international corporate conglomerates in Japan, US, China, etc.

Large corporations owned the teams and sponsored the carnage.   In the future it will be interesting to see if any large corporations that are not currently involved in professional sports go to this level of "sponsorship".
