Valley of Fire/Red Rock??

If you had to choose to go to either Valley of Fire or Red Rock Canyon, which would it be and why?
Both are very nice, red rock is closer. We got married at valley of the fire, think the rock at valley is more red. I would try out red rock first, heck the donkeys walk right up to your car at times.
A second for Red Rock.
Red Rock. It is closer and in the summer heat you probably don't want to spend a lot of time outdoors.

I vote Red Rock. It is much closer. Plus, once you leave the park, just head right to Red Rock Casino and cool off Valley of Fire isn't something I am planning to go back to, I will probably be going back to Red Rock in July. And unless you have a list of the rock formations, you just kinda have to use your imagination at Valley of Fire. "That looks like a......." lol

Another vote for Red Rock. I've been to both but I really liked Red Rock....as someone else suggested make a stop at Red Rock Resort on your way back!
I like Red Rock a lot. Go there multiple times every trip (I bought the annual pass).
In summer, there are some nice short (a few miles) walks that don't get hot until getting close to midday.
Red Rock is nicely contained in one loop with a great vista.

We prefer Red Rock too, but we look at both as a one time deal. Nothing to bring us back for a second trip.
I would never pick one over the other, but as you travel on the road that continues behind the visitor's center at Valley of Fire, it seems to go on forever and every turn in the road brings a new wondrous view. When we do Valley of Fire, we make a day of it, taking I-15 to get there, but going out the back way which takes you on a beautiful drive by Lake Mead. If you continue on this road, it takes you to Lake Las Vegas where we usually stop, and then head back to Las Vegas.

If you do Red Rock, continue on the road a little more after you visit and drive through Blue Diamond. It's a quaint little town a little bit down the road.
