Vega$ with Dan Tanna

I remember growing up watching the show. I remember thinking the show girls were so pretty and had such pretty outfits and thinking how I wanted to be a show girl.
I don't remember the year, mid 90's possibly when my girlfriends & I were in Vegas. We decided to eat at Planet Hollywood in the Forum Shops. We didn't know it but Robert Urich aka Dan Tanna was coming to present items from his show "Vegas" to be put on display at Planet Hollywood. I always thought he was such a cutie so I was thrilled our table was near the presentation area! I got to see him up close! I remember it wasn't long after that he announced he had cancer and then died in 2002.

We'll be back to Vegas in May so maybe we'll have to go back to Planet Hollywood in the Forum Shops (I assume it's still there) and look for the display of items from the show "Vegas"

Thanks for reminding me of a special time in Vegas!
"The Hacienda was where Mandalay Bay is now."

That is amazing. It seemed as far from the strip as M.
In 1978, we stayed at the then MGM (now Bally's), but often walked across Flamingo Blvd. to the Maxim, which was featured in the opening credits of the show. Loved those smoky plexigrlas lights, lol. Had a great time there, and the BJ dealers would tell us to take a hit if they already had our hands beat. Ah, the good old days!

When I first started going to Vegas, Lance Burton was the headliner at the Hacienda. On a summer golf trip we almost stayed there, but decided to stay at Sam's Town to check out an "outlying" casino. Ended up loving it and stayed there many times after, but wish we would have stayed at least a couple of nights at the Hacienda since it's gone now. That started my habit of staying at locals places. After that (about'95), I think my only other stay on the strip was in about 2000 when the Desert Inn was running a great stay and play special for the golf course before they closed. I always loved the DI and maybe partly because of Vega$.

Good Luck!
