Vegas in January or February

I have not been to Vegas in Janaury or February before. I know there are several large conventions during this time, and several holidays. I have seen posted on one of the threads about there being slow times in Vegas during these two months, but I can't find where i read that. Can someone help me on what dates in January or February next year would be a slower time in Vegas? I really don't like the larger than normal crowds. Thanks for any help.
I don't follow the conventions, so someone else will have to help you with those, but LV tends not to be too busy in those months, except for holidays & special events (New Year's Day, MLK & Presidents' holidays, Super Bowl, NASCAR race).
Google Vegas convention calender and you find numerous calenders.

I would just check totalrewards.com All Las Vegas Casino rate calender for January and February, when most of their properties are discounted you will find cheaper rooms all over town. Also watch airfare sales from your city. Airfares go down when there is less demand in Vegas, rental cars rates will follow.
Sherry,

I just followed my own advice and checked the TR calender. Jan 6th-8th is the deadest weekend, Flamingo is $125 without entering my TR number. There are plenty of midweek rates of $50-55 for Flamingo. There will be no crowds then.
I use Flamingo as a mid-range strip example.

You can also call in December the VIP office at any property you have a play history. Often you have offers that you are unaware of.

The biggie is CES (Consumer Electronics Show)with expected visitors of 140k Jan 10- 13. Avoid these dates at all costs. to check other dates you can go to lvcva.com and do a dates search.
I've had a January visit to LV for the last 14 years and never had a problem. Usually third or fourth week and I always seem to end up with a low rental car rate. Never had a problem with getting comped rooms. And we love the weather.

We always fo our girls trip the weekend before the super bowl - the only football game is the pro bowl and nobody watches that, it's not crowded at that time.
If you avoid the weekends I think you'll be ok. I've bee to Vegas when it's been really busy and I don't think Vegas has been really busy in a long, long, time. There is ces and the furniture show in Jan. Both are very big shows. Good luck.
I think that the last week in February should be fine. But all weekends (at least I think) are better to be avoided. I think that it's better to start on Sunday.

I always go the last week in February. It's perfect. Not too busy and not too slow. Only thing is weather can be unpredictable but who cares. It's Vegas!
