There is a lot of controversy concerning the Vegas Rover group and their marketing practices. You do not find out what the card entitles you to until after you buy it. The group was originally a MyVegas group that got extremely hostile with others. Even those who claim to "benefit" from the coupons/card provide no insight as to the value or validity of the card.

We had an experience with them. In fact, there were discussions about doing some work together, but that that didn't happen. "Hostile" is the perfect word.

I have no specific history with them besides using the Ellis Island coupon earlier in the year. You can find their current coupons and prices on their web page. It sounds like they are in beta and will do full scale roll out next week.

As of now, the deals are limited and not as good as LVA, but they appear to have some great ideas. The concept of having a card instead of a coupon book is fantastic. It eliminates coupon abuse and gives the casinos improved tracking metrics. It also allows them to offer weekly, quarterly and monthly deals much easier. For example, with the card you get a weekly free beer at Ellis Island. You are also eligible for a $25 slot rebate every 90 days (it's higher value for the higher tiers).

It's hard to imagine the higher tiers catching on as you would need incredible value to justify a $500 annual fee. If they continue to round out their coupon portfolio I could see the $50 and $100 levels doing well.

The ACG is too much of a dinosaur too learn from this, but the LVA folks would be wise to take a good look. The Rover folks have some upstart ideas that could really improve the LVA/MRB.

As a $250 / yr Emerald you might get your money back. Best option is to hit Ellis Island 4 times for the slot rebate. However, based on currently available offers, this is not a good deal.

I hope they continue to expand their offers. Perhaps in the future there will be real value here.
