Vegas Virgin??

I'm looking for suggestions - I've been to Vegas about once a year over the last 10 years and made the rounds and seen quite a few different things - althought still a LOT of things that i have not seen or done.

However, this summer I will be taking my girlfriend for her first ever trip to Vegas - I'm not sure how much of a gambler she will be until she gets out there (and hopefully wins early so she'll play more!).... but, if you were taking someone for their first trip what would you put on the must do/see list other than doing the walk on the strip at night and a trip downtown (which is where i normally stay but this time we are staying at Bally's comped)?

Any suggestions are appreciated! Thanks
Well there's all of the Free things to see:

Fountains at Bellagio;
Pirate Battle at Treasure Island;
Conservatory in Bellagio;
Chocolate Fountain in Bellagio (by the Patisserie);
Animatronics Show at Caesar's Palace;
See The Flamingos at Flamingo Hotel;
Rock N' Roll Memorabilia at Hard Rock Casino;
Masquerade Show In The Sky at Rio;
Bevertainers At Rio;
and See the Lions at MGM.

Then you could also go up the Stratosphere Tower, go on the roller coasters at Stratosphere, Circus-Circus, Sahara and New York-New York and maybe get the American Casino Guide and use the coupons at the very least for the Freeplay stuff that is offered.

There is no longer a 'pirate battle' at Treasure Island with all due respect to RecVPPlayer, if my boyfriend took me to Las Vegas and wouldn't do anything that wasn't free, I would be a little annoyed.

Do you think she might like to see a show? Go to a club? maybe you could treat her to a spa day while you gamble one day if she isn't very interested in gambling.

Thank you for that information, KarenTN! I know that more recently there have been Sirens out there (I have seen that on TV since I rarely go to the Strip -- especially at night) and although I haven't seen the show, do those Sirens battle (or is any battling going on at all)? Are they Siren Pirates or is there no show at all and is the whole show scrapped altogether?

The Sirens show is horrible. I loved the Pirate show....saw it every time we went. Being a full-blooded man, I thought I'd love the perks the Sirens show added. It was like having teeth pulled....couldn't wait until it was over.
Yea, I figured all of the free stuff would be great - she's a chocolate lover so thanks for the suggestion on the Chocolate Fountain!

I am probably going to get us show tickets - just not sur which one yet. I loved the BMG when i went before and i think she'd enjoy it as well so i may have to go again!

You're very welcome! Maybe you can keep that one a surprise -- maybe just say something like that you have a nice surprise to take her to.

You did not give age or home town, that would help.

If you are getting comped room for Ballys you probably rate a deal on tickets to "Human Nature" at IP. I can not imagine anyone not enjoying that show and it is very affordable under any condition.
Age is 34 - mine... hers 24 - but I act younger than her! jk - I'm divorced so i'm back to my younger mentality.

I'll look into the "Human Nature"

Thanks
I suggest taking the girlfriend to the Peppermill Fireside Lounge. It's a restaurant/bar next to the old Riviera Hotel/Casino near the north end of the strip. Go to the lounge side. It's a dark, sort of old school Vegas lounge and bar with a laid back, relaxed feel to it. You can sit on circular shaped sofas aroudn fire pits.
