Not that it comes up in daily conversation, but I have heard 'casino friends' interpret a "casino win" report as meaning players had been winning more during the reporting period. Like..."Yay, I hope it is still that way when we get there."
Doh....well, whatever makes their day. "Casino win" is misleading to the lambs.

There's a one-panel comic strip called "Mister Boffo"--a regular feature is "People Unclear on the Concept."
This isn't new to gambling, actually. When the Strip casinos were phasing in 6:5 blackjack, Bally's advertised that it was "by popular demand," while a couple of other casinos advertised, "Other casinos pay 3 to 2, but WE pay 6 to 5!!!" Really. They must have found that for some percentage of the numbskull gamling public, 6 to 5 represented a larger payout than 3 to 2, because, uh, 6 is larger than 3. DAWWWWWWK!
For the life of me, I can't fathom why the casinos would crow about these numbers. Doesn't that mean, "HEY! You're losing more than ever!!!!"?
