Venetian/Palazzo ends comps for all but whales

According to Sheldon Adelson Club Grazie is cutting all comps except for
highest rollers. Well I guess no more going there for me.

With 3000 new luxury rooms just opened at Cosmopolitan, I think Sheldon is going to find it hard to fill the Venetian at rack.

He only wants convention business, not "regular" people. He thinks he'll earn more money from rooms, restaurants, and shops.

Adelson is a jerk. He should get out of Vegas and move to China.

Let's see how long this idiotic decision last now that the word is out.
I know myself or none of my large group of gambling friends will go
there now.

I will miss the generous freeplay. I have had wierd interaction with them lately. I used to have an executive host. On most trips she would not comp any of my room charges, because I was always 'oveercomped'. I did not stay there in 2010, and my total coin in there for the year was $38.00

so then out of the blue sometime before Christmas I get a call from a 'Player Development Rep' and a follow up email. I tell him I am planning a trip for Feb 10-13 and he tells me he can comp me at either property for that weekend, but when I ask about freeplay and other extras, he says they aren't doing those anymore. So after Christma I book the trip

in late 2008 I got a line of credit there, I only used it once. Then I got a letter in the mail the other day. 'Your recent credit application has been processed and approved for $2500" what????

After what i've read, they don't know what one hand is doing from another. I would not stay there anymore-- why have hosts at all if it's paying customers/conventioneers?

I am kind of irritated that they apparently re-processed my old credit application. As long as they are still giving me a comped room, I will stay there. I don't see the point in not using a free room just because they aren't handing them out as freely as they used to. Someone I know from another board is still getting freeplay through her host. She must be a mega whale

All last year I was getting comped rooms and a nice free play bonus. I stayed at both the V and P a number of times throughout the year.

Toward the end of the year I noticed that the smell in both casinos was really giving me a hard time both as a headache and a stuffy nose. Because of this, I had decided to not take them up on any more of their offers even though they were very nice.

Well, that decision seems to be mote as they have stopped sending me any offers.

I'm sorry. Both of the casinos are beautiful and all but I just can't get past the smell anymore.

Cool by me, I look forward to Adelson being a lot less wealthy.

No big deal. I've also had to make some economic decisions.

I've decided to end all play for resorts that dont offer comps.
