welcome sign

with all the  amazing  sites  along the  strip......why   does vegas  still have  such a droll and mundane.welcome  sign ......come on i know  you  can do much better ......and think of   the marketing !

would respectfully disagree---the sign is ageless----very much a part of the infrastructure of the city---

Ditto.  And besides, who needs a fancy welcome sign?  Nice but not essential except for photos to send back home.  The 'visitor' has already decided to visit the city.

I recommend changing it to, "HELLO, SUCKERS!" Much more appropriate for today's Vegas.

I fully expect the city to put up a tollgate and charge $5 for access to the sign. After all, tourists are being soaked to pay for everything else, such as the shiny new foobaw stadium not far from the sign.

The sign is a nice welcome Yet I would never stand in line for a photo

 I myself have never understood the attraction or the desire to take a photo.

surprised no one is there charging to take piccys ...but its  still a very drab   and boring sign .. come on vegas

I believe someone is 

the one that welcomes you to downtown Vegas is pretty cool.  You just have to step over a couple railroad bums to get into the shot.
