What are your Vegas Commandments?

Here are mine:

I. Don’t Bet Scared Money. Have an established a gambling fund. Break that down into sessions consisting of a day or half day. Once that is gone – stop. Don’t dip into another session fund with the thought of recouping your losses.

II. Don’t Think of it as Losing Money Gambling. Think of it as spending money on entertainment (which happens to be gambling!)

III. If it Stops being Fun – Stop. No pouting or whining.

IV. Drink Lots of Water. Every second or third drink should be water!

V. Drunken Comrades are NOT to be Left Unattended! Cannot stress this one enough. We have safety, marriages, and professional licenses to protect.

VI. Big Winners Buy Dinner.

VII. The Following Words Shall NOT be Uttered in Vegas:
Karma Always Bites Me on the Butt
I Never Win
It’s Not Fair
I’m Unlucky
I’m Not Lucky
Of Course We are Lucky – We are in VEGAS!!!
Anticipate!! Fun!!!

Be openminded about winning.

Enjoy the food. Eat at least one time at the Wynn buffet!

Enjoy at least two shows.

Keep within the budget.
Thou shalt not lose!!!!!!!! LOL

Drink a lot of w...whiskey. LOL

Friendly attractive women at the bar are usually working real time. LOL

Don't walk down dark alleys day or night.

Always pack your T shirt that says: "BEWARE OF WOMEN WITH BUSY HANDS."

Always bring home at least a penny so you can say you were not cleaned out.
Put a STOP/LOSS program into effect.

Enjoy the drinks but know you are playing stupid

Take breaks from the tables every so often.

Never say anything about another play.

Be smart enough to leave a cold table.

Don't try to play the percentages. Example lose 5 hands in a row don't think number 6 is the lucky one.

Don't let your gambling ruin your fun. When the fun stops be smart and quit.

Don't bet the mortage.

Plan your show entertainment. Purchase your tickets before you leave the house.

Don't count on comps to make your trip a sucess.

Thou shall Not steal............that's just asking for a lightening bolt.

Thou shall not covet anyone elses jackpots. Be happy for them. Good karma.

Thou shall Not play for Comps only. Queen of Comps may strike you down.

Thou shall stick to budget, even if it includes daily stake at ATM.

Thou shall say CHECK PLEASE. Yes, the whole amount, Thank you.

Thou shall not make commandments in Las Vegas for thou shall inevitably break them and feel bad about it.

My rule (now) is to never borrow money from my sisters or go to the ATM in Vegas. I take the cash I am willing to lose with me. When it's gone, it's gone.

One trip I was completely wiped out. We still had most of the day left before going home. I borrowed some money from my sister. I sat down at a blackjack table and lost it in about 10 minutes. Then I really felt bad. I went home broke and the first thing I had to do was write a check to send to my sister. That really sucked!

- Linda in TX
Thou shalt not stay on the strip.

Thou shalt only visit the strip for short, short periods.

Thou shalt not gamble on the strip.

Thou shalt play golf.

Thou shalt consume massive quantities of water to offset the massive quantities of booze.

Thou shalt not pay rack rate.

Thou shalt visit the Double Down Saloon every trip.

That's only seven, but they're really important.

Good Luck!
Ric at Joes

Eat, Drink (water) and be Merry
Never gamble without using The Lucky Glitter
Have a plan but be loose about it
Stay positive and grateful
Be Polite
I have an exact route that I pass through certain casinos Downtown and on the strip. I usually do this right after checkin to see any changes in the properties I enjoy spending time in. I usually do this in the properties I gamble in only.
