What Trumpiffs will do to the cost of your Vegas vacation

Room costs: moderate effects, depending on the magnitude of Trump's Holocaust II. Labor costs may go WAY up, as Vegas relies on immigrant labor to keep its hotels running. We'll see.

Food: this is the real biggie, as Vegas imports thousands of tons of food from Mexico every day. Hope there are no tomatoes in your meals. Or beef. Or avocados.

Transportation: Trump's I Hate Canada tax will increase gasoline and jet fuel prices...the exact amount is yet to be determined, but economists estimate 10 to 15 percent, which will of course be passed on to consumers.

Gambling: a drop in visitation caused by backlashes against Trump's I Hate Everybody campaign may make it a little tougher for the casinos to make money.

So if you come to Vegas and you voted for the Orange Turd...don't complain about high prices. You got exactly what you wanted.

i knew someone would yeep about this as it's supposedly "political," but it's not. For better or worse, that ship has sailed and America has gotten what it asked for. Now, it's a matter of anticipating and absorbing the coming horrific damage to the economy and our wallets--and that's all we can do. Politics is not going to enter into it. Not for four years, anyway.

It's a genuine concern that a Vegas vacay is going to be more expensive than ever--that's inevitable, unless Air Force One flies into the side of a mountain--so people should know and prepare for which parts will be affected the most. As I said, food costs will be the most affected by Trumpiffs, and labor costs will be most affected by Trump's anti-brown people crusade. Travel costs will be marginally increased. The silver lining is that visitation from foreign countries will be down--perhaps way down.

Tom wouldn't have his feathers ruffled if my thread had criticized Biden. Like a thread he started a couple of years ago, OUTSIDE THE SINK, about how "Bidenflation" had made visiting Vegas more expensive.

In any event, a) mentioning politics isn't forbidden outside the Sink; b) this thread isn't about politics. It's about the current economic situation, which may have been CAUSED by politics but there's nothing we can do about it now.

Why should, or would it be? I'm not talking--EEEK!--politics. I'm talking economics--planning.
