Where else do you vacation?

With the ongoing gouging of the gamblers that come to Las Vegas where else are you spending your discretionary money?
For less gambling money than we spend now we used to be able to stay, eat, drink, and see a show or two all comped from our gambling. Now the rooms we still get comped but have to pay $30 a night resort fee. Drinks are comped while playing but $8 for a Bud Light on the Strip if not gambling. Most places I earn about $1 of food comps for every $1000 dollars of play. Show tickets, forget about it! Drinks at the pool $12. Now parking $10. I find this insane but still manage to make 3 trips a year.

On the other hand we have started going to all-inclusives in Mexico and the Caribbean for seven nights around $1200 each all in. Great rooms, decent drinks, ok to good food, amazing beaches, awesome pools with swim up bars, and most of all impeccable service.

Just curious if others have made this switch as well?
We usually spend Christmas & New Years in the Caribbean.
Well, let's see, in Mississippi we go to Biloxi and Tunica; Metropolis in IL, Elizabeth and French Lick in Indiana, and Cherokee in North Carolina. Whoops - all are casino destinations...
Used to go to Vegas 2-3 times per year. We now cruise in the spring and hit Vegas in the fall.

We go to British Colombia and stay on Victoria island with a stop in Bellingham and stay at the Silver Reef Casino. Not Comped but love it. Vegas is becoming an also ran for us.

Vegas Once a Year for 3-4 days

Biloxi Once a Year for up to 2 Nights

Cherokee NC Once a Year for 1 Night

The Beaches of NE Florida: 3-4x a Year.

One of my best trips ever was a week at the beach and flew from there to Vegas for 3 nights. Exhausting and Awesome.

marko..
These days I take two trips a year to LV because my best bud and wife live there. Other than a couple of shorts trips, that's it. Back a ways, I go to LV 5-6 times per year and make 3-4 trips to bowling tournaments every year. I no longer bowl, so that's out. Two trips to LV is good these days. After 60+ trips, there's not a lot of new territory to explore. The one thing that has always drawn me to LV still exists and that's the good value. I chuckle sometimes at the threads about resorts fees and price increases. The equivalent room in any major city would cost twice as much if not more. Food is also a great value, especially downtown or at the locals joints. It's not what it once was, but it's still good. I don't see changing my pattern anytime soon.

Good Luck!

Went four-plus years w/o going to Vegas but went a few times last year. I might be on another non-Vegas cycle.
Vegas is my only annual destination. otherwise I mix it up. Thinking about New Orleans or Santa Fe this year.
I guess you are talking about gambling destinations, but we live in Las Vegas, so in the past years we have vacationed in:
2015: India (two weeks) and Singapore (one week)
2014: Madrid/Barcelona (two weeks) and Tokyo (one week)
2013: Australia/New Zealand (two weeks)
2012: Thailand
