WSOP satellite question

I am going to be in Las Vegas May 14th thru the 21st and would like to enter a texas no limit holdem tournament with a satellite to the main event.
On line is now out of the question with the DOJ shutting down ful tilt poker etc, so a satellite tourny in Vegas is my only hope.
Can someone point me in the right direction?
The official WSOP satellite page offers some hints. It looks like the "official" official satellites start on May 30, but there are probably going to be a fair amount of unofficial satellites everywhere, not just at the Rio. I'd say keep your ears open, start contacting your favorite poker rooms, or hit a huge jackpot.
I'll be there the previous week, and if I find any info, I'll post. I suspect (now Caesar's) would have something going to promote the events.
Shoot, I was just reading an article about satellites...........and how there may be more of them,
but perhaps costing alittle more ths year........if I run across article again, will post the link,
unless someone else finds it in the meantime? lol

1. I asked at Caesar's and they said they had nothing, which I find odd. You might call and ask again.

2. At the Rio, your hours of play at the cash games earn you a buy-in for their qualifier. For 15 hours, you get a T5,000 stack, for 30 hours, you get a T10,000 stack. The hours are earned from May 9 - 26. The qualifier is May 26 at 6pm. Ten $1,000 seats awarded to the top ten.

3. At IP, your hours of play at the cash games earn you drawing tickets for a drawing for seats. Each 9 hours gets you a ticket, limit 5 tickets earned per month. I believe there are 5 seats available through the drawing, a $10K, a $5K, and 5 $1Ks.
I really thought they would do more qualifiers (satelites) in vegas once the DOJ shut down the poker sights. the main event should have low numbers this year wouldnt you say?
4. This one seems best to me: If you play cash games at Harrah's from 5/14 to 5/27, you will receive a drawing ticket for each hour you play. The next day, they will award a $1K WSOP seat, using a drawing at 3:30pm. So that's 14 seats available from the drawing.

5. Harrah's does have a qualifier for a $10K seat. The qualifier is July 3 at noon, and you get in by playing 40 hours during June. This one is an extremely fast structure, so you're probably not missing much if you can't do it. T4,000 max, 25/50 to start, and 20 minute rounds; just a lottery, really.

Given what you've said, if it was me, I'd focus on the Harrah's drawings and the IP drawings. I will go back to IP to find out if you need to be present to win.

Re. management of the tournament, promotions, rooms, etc., I've found that, like most players, most poker management people over-rate themselves. So I'm rarely surprised by incompetence. Sometimes, but rarely.
The IP drawings will be held June 1. You don't need to be present to win. But it's just one $5K seat and 5 $1K seats.
