You tube

I like Anthony & Andrew's weekly updates.  They are informative & entertaining.

A lot of people do YouTube videos.  While they mostly have some good info, I find most of them amateurish. as most of these seem like they are done with their phones, with the picture bouncing up & down.

One I do like is Travel Ruby.  They are very professionally done & she has a good camera prescence & gives off a we love Vegas vibe.  They use a better camera & I suspect her husband (known as Mr Ruby) has experience in photography & editing.  They have turned this into a nice business with advertising & paid subscriptions.

She has done over 200 videos with reviews on hotels, restaurants, buffets etc.  Her hotel reviews seem to be spot on from my experience.  We have only been to a few of the restaurants she has dined in, but again seems spot on.

Its amazing what you can do with basic video equipment and editing applications  you can buy for under $1000.      Some of the amateur content made today has higher quality than professional TV shows from 20 years ago.

The only issue I see is that frequently the content providers run out of content.   I follow a guy in NYC who is an amazing Italian chef.  Problem is he's made every Itaian dish in the book by now - but he still needs to make new content regularly in order to keep his subscribers active.   So he kinda makes reruns of stuff he already did.

I see that with Las Vegas bloggers too.   Pretty soon they run out of their favorite "top 10 places" lists and it gets repetitive.

Still informative thought.   I've learned more from YouTube then everything in college.

I saw Travel Ruby mentioned in an earlier post a couple of weeks ago, have watched several of her videos, and we started following her.  Your comments on quality and presentment are what we think as well.

Those YouTube Vloggers have saved my sanity during these last 2 1/2 years!  I can't be in Vegas having fun but I can live vicariously through them.  I enjoy the " professional " looking ones as well as some of the more amateurish ones.  I think I has a lot to do with just liking the host's personality.  I enjoy Matt Bridger, Travel Ruby, Pompsie, All you can Vegas, Coolist, JacobslifeinVegas, VegasLowRoller, Hogand2cent, Pennys4Vegas, Cinnamongirl....etc etc etc

I watch a lot of videos!

I have seen Ruby's videos and by abd largethey are helpful.

She just did one on Caesar's & torched the place.  Mediocre room & a reservation with a $300 charge to use the main pool

Which is an example of the corporate greed going on with Caesar's and MGM properties.  As visitation slows, which it is, this crap should decrease.  I hope.

Ruby doesn't have a high end video editing set up. She named the video editor she used. It's a low end one.  Pompsie's videos are the most cinematic.

I am surprised nobody mentioned Norma Geli and Jacob's Life in Vegas. They both have huge followings and put out quality videos. Bob Dingo puts out some amusing Vegas videos too.  Travel video is elvoving away from the long format video into the TikTok style shorts. That's where the money is.

PJ, yes you can create amazing videos with any flagship level smart phone, a gimble and basic video editing software. You do need a higher end computer to edit the videos.

I always feel too awakened walking around with my phone attached to my gimble to shoot a lot of video in Vegas.

I always wonder how many people will look at you strangely as you wander around talking loudly to yourself.  I would like to attempt it but I am pretty sure I would just fall flat on my face.
