Mesquite Goes Independent

Mesquite Goes Independent Rare good news on the consolidation front. The Mesquite books at Casablanca and Virgin River were Southpoint satellites, but no more. They went independent recently so fresh set of lines for those who happen to be in area. Traveling close to 100 miles is probably not a great use of time for an extra point but if out that way it's certainly worth checking out. They also have a free football contest for all slot card holders. Picks can be submitted Wed-Sun and there are no point spreads. Prizes are awarded in free-play and must be collected the week they are won. When you enter it seems as if you have to commit to either Virgin River or Casablanca and then put your picks in each week at that location. If you do that for the entire season without missing a week you get a $20 freeplay bonus at seasons end. There are season-long prizes along with the weekly payouts. All together there is $50,000 in prize money to be awarded.
Have visited Virgin River and Casablanca a couple times each now. Both seem to be doing OK and both open 8am weekdays and 7am weekends. The book at the Virgin River is nicer IMO. Certainly the viewing area is better and that is the hub where all bets are approved and lines go up first. Their players card is one of the best in the state returning $6 per $1000 bet and $30 per $1000 bet on horses. Drink tickets are given for $20 and up bets. No wifi available in the book unless you are a hotel guest.
