Mobile App Betting Fails in Border towns Have to give a big fat F- to the sports book apps as far as betting
from sports books in the border towns. Have tried in S Lake Tahoe,
Mesquite and Laughlin and failed miserably each time trying to make
a bet. Reason cited is I'm too close to the border. In Mesquite I tried
the Southpoint app from the Southpoint run book at Casablanca and
told I was not in the authorized area. In Laughlin I tried all over town
with the Will Hill app including right from a Will Hill book and was locked
out. In S Lake Tahoe tried from Harrahs and Harveys to no avail.
Apparently the triangulation used by the location program uses three
towers and often one or more are on the other side of the border. You'd
think as long as one were IN Nevada that it would be enough. Having
one outside NV will get you blocked out though and that effectively
eliminates all the border towns. Guessing Primm and Wendover would
be the same.
