$20 trick at Golden Nugget

Everything I have read about the Nugget has inferred that the $20 trick might get the clerk fired. There is a way to put the bill between the card and DL and hand to the clerk without anybody seeing it. If done correctly, how would the desk manager notice? The worst thing I see is the idiots that describe the clerk on the internet that gives them the upgrade for the coin. I guess everybody wants to be a bigshot.
Join the Landry Select Club. Show your card at check in and you get a room upgrade. Plus you get $25 towards food at several GN eateries and another $25 on your birthday that can be used anytime. Also, when booking at the Nugget, spend the extra $25 for VIP check in(not availble when booking online) it allows you to check in at VIP lounge (no long lines) and you jump line at the GN buffet. We don't book at the GN without it.
markfb22, you are joining a conversation that concluded three and a half years ago. FYI.
And three and a half years later the difference is still the same - a tip is a reward for good service. The $20.00 "trick" is a bribe to incite an employee to steal from their employer. Calling it a trick does not make it any less dishonest.
