Angry Butcher @ Sams Town

Just a ball park number, could be more or less. I know I first went to Sam's in 1995 and got a card in 1996 (still have the original somewhere) . I stayed there on the LVA coupon one time one a one might stay and got upgraded to a mini suite. I became a regular player there after that. Diamond Lil's closed before I ever returned after that stay. The diner closed a few years later. If someone wants to tear through my old trip reports I'm sure the actual closing of Mary's Diner is somewhere in there.

It never made sense to me why they closed it. It was always busy. I always hoped they were going to reopen it because for years they simply had temporary walls built around it to hide it.

Sadly I'm not even a regular at Sam's Town anymore due to their offers dropping to an unacceptable level despite higher play than ever. I went from getting 5 nights, a gold card, and $75-$100 free play to getting 3 nights and $25 free play. E-mails to the GM of the property/my host and another e-mail to another host went answered. Simply put, they've been replaced.

was supposed to be a joke......i played plenty of 10 cent roulette there in the day.
not only has dining gone downhill but also concern and appreciation for long time customers who have a history of decent play-----started going there over 20 years ago and played blackjack -----later switched over to video-poker where I found odds were better and comps easier to come bye------they had a ton of fpdw machines------over the years they not only cut back their machines but also comps earned ---------in the past when I needed an extra nite comped or an upgrade I could talk to a host by the name of johnny difulvio and he would do his best to help if he could-----hosts there now are indifferent -------by the way johnny di left for whatever reason and is now doing well at boulder station------needless to say I no longer go to sams t-----
Johnny D left because he got laid off in jan. 2013, and he was not the only one; there is just one 'host' there now and he is hard to get ahold of. if you are still a good enough customer (emerald level, or close to) you can book stays through the gm. assume all these moves were seen as cost-saving measures.

The GM is officially my host and I've never had a problem getting hold of him during a visit. His secretary has even authorized a comp for me once.
Didn't mean to imply that the gm is also a host.
my bconnected account lists one host, and my contact with him has been sporadic at best.
I did receive an email from the gm last year saying to go through him for reservations, and he has always been prompt in answering my requests, though I have yet to meet him in person.
Haven't been to Sams for a few years, but we drove out there last Saturday to see the changes. Place still looked the same overall but we checked the new resturants out with a walk by and it was around 6 pm. I don't know how they'll make it with the prices etc and there were very few people at both places. Certainly nothing like Billy Bobs a few years ago.
Yeah Marys Has Been Gone A Long Long Time, Missed - Fridays Jst Doesnt Cut It As A Replacement

Whats Funny Is How Much Misinformation Is Out There On The Web, The Other Day I Was Looking For A Hotel Deal For A Few Days For Friends To Stay At Samstown...Looking On Hotels.com Its Showing The Stagecoach RESTAURANT On The 2nd Floor Across From The Bingo.....Stagecoach BAR Is Located There But No Restaurant
