I'm heading to Vegas in 12 days and staying at Green Valley Ranch. Does anyone know if the pool is open?

When I was there at the end of June, yes, it was.
There website says if I remember correctly for the rest of season 9-6, but I think there allowing locals in for a charge which in these times I wish they wouldn't.
Yes, there were locals at GVR's pool - I talked to some.

I agrre with your view of non-hotel guests being admitted to the pool for a fee. I would take it even further and say, I as a hotel guest wish it weren't offered at any time. I assume you were referencing covid. I think I understand from the hotel's point of view (additional revenue), but from a hotel guests point of view I have paid to use the pool as part of the resort fee, or perhaps the resort fee has been comped.
I'm certainly more opinionated on this topic based on our last trip because there were people at the pool who despite the fact that the pool provides piped in music, brought in there own music source, not accessed thru headphones/ear buds, and as Kramer does at the dentist, the artists were "letting the expletives fly." Were these pool goers non hotel guests? I dont know, but if you limit the pool to hotel guests the potential for this type of scenerio would certainly be lessened.

Well, ksouth I am probably more opinionated than you are, because in that situation I would have found SOMEBODY to complain to about it. Not the perps themselves, but somebody with authority. Would that somebody do anything? Who knows, but at least you would bring forth a problem that affected their guests. This might be a more recent happening, with the many musical apps etc. coming on the scene. Hotel management needs to get a hold of this problem and determine a plan for their employees to address it when it happens. Good luck.
