boyd -- going from ruby to sapphire..

I didn't see any difference going from Ruby to Sapphire. I'm barely Sapphire, but still received the same offers.

Offers aren't based on your tier. They are based on your action. The main difference between ruby and Sapphire is Sapphire gets double points every day. You'll also get slightly lower room rates as Sapphire then ruby gets.

Those are the two main differences between the 2 tiers.
The best thing for me is how much further the upgrade stretches the food budget with the 50% food discounts using points.
thanks to all for the feedback :-)

When I look at my Bconnected account I see...

Card Score is awarded for Slot and Table Game Play. Visit B Connected at your favorite Boyd Gaming casino for details.
MY CARD SCORE
Your Card Score as of April 4, 2015: 39,094
Card Score expiring on May 1, 2015: 0
Earning Period: 12 Months
Card Expiration Date: July 31, 2015

I earned 23,731 points last week (probably better than half at the Orleans), but I am somewhat confused as to what exactly "expire"s on 7/31/2015?? Do all my points/sapphire expire 7/31?

Ive beed Sapphire for 2 years and the double points is a nice perk. Other than that I just get 2 nights a month at MSS, Suncoast and GC. I used to get some food from MSS/Cal but that has dissappeared. And 2 nights every 3 months from Orleans. I'd like to believe after my play last week at GC and Orleans, that those offers would increase but Im not holding my breath.

I must say that I enjoy the Boyd properties (especuially Orleans and GC) more than any other collection of prperties for the feel of their casino. The wife and I always seem to have a good time at Orleans and GC (she is not a big fan of MSS or Suncoast). Ive pretty much given up on Stations. Made CET Platinum in my stay last week at Ballys so I'm covered there till 2017!!
The expiring credits you see are what you earned that month a year ago...they are only good for one year. I renew every August so its a simple matter to see what I currently have and what I will loose over the next few months. That tells me what I have to earn to keep my Emerald by the end of August. I've done the math and I've already locked in the Emerald. In the past you really had to keep a running total by month to know where you stand...now they do it for you.
I agree with you wife, GC & SC are not very attractive to me either. I love Sams for the gold card & suites, but I like Orleans a little better because all of their $DDB is full pay and Sams only has about 30 FP.
Champ, from what I understand, the points at Boyd roll off in a year; in other words, every point you earn is tagged with the date that you earned it, and expires in exactly a year. So if you return on the same date, for example, you'll see some points expiring every day during your trip. You're right, the big advantage of Sapphire is the double CB.

By the way, you mention that you've given up on Stations. We stayed at Palace in February, gave them $5K coin-in and my offers thus far have been just 6x points on Tuesdays, in other words, nada. Any idea what they're looking for to send room offers?
Thanks Capt!!
Just to clarify, your point accumulation towards your card score expires every 12 months. The slot points that can be used for comps or cash back do not expire as long as you don't have 12 months of inactivity.
update: so, on my last trip to vegas, I played a lot at boyd casinos, enuf to move from ruby to sapphire. and most of it was at Orleans. and now instead of getting 2 free nights, the best offer I have at Orleans is a reduced rate and $10 a day dining credit. and I would have to pay the daily resort fee of $12.99. I realize it can take a while for your offers to catch up with your play but this feels like a slap in the face. I was planning on going back in august, I wonder if a host could help with 2 or 3 nights comped.
