Boyd Point Multiplier & Tier Points

Hello Everybody:

I haven't really given any of the Boyd Properties much play over the years. But after reading about all of the changes for the better at the Gold Coast, I expect that to change on our upcoming visit.

I see where I need 30,000 and 250,000 tier points to reach Saphire and Emerald respectively. My question is, if I were to play 10,000 through a video poker machine on a 5X multiplier day, would my tier score be 50,000?

Nope. Your screen will show you your daily regular points and your tier points and slao your points with multiplier applied. They base your tier points on your straight points.

So in that scenario, your tier points would be 10,000. You'd have to put a lot of coin in to reach Emerald.

The 5x multiplier doesn't affect the tier points. It just affects your comp points. Comp points are comps OR cash back OR free slot play, whichever you choose.

The tier points are based on a rolling calendar (points played last May expire this May), so once you have your sapphire or emerald status, then fall below it, just play again, and it shoots right back up to restore the status (assuming you play enough points, and you do it before even more points expire). You don't have to play the entire 25k or 250k again unless you are starting at 0.

Stations and Harrah's DO make you play the whole thing again, with no carryover. Even worse, Stations only give you 6 months instead of 1 year.
