BOYD - Response to new comp offers - I'M NOT HAPPY!

Below is an e-mail I sent to Boyd about their new comp room offers and their response. I am sickened by the changes that are happening. We have always been loyal to Boyd and maintained Sapphire status (both for my husband and myself) during our annual one week trip to Vegas. Going to really have to rethink our strategy for our next trip - maybe we will focus our play on Station casinos and hope for some offers. We don't enjoy being downtown all that much anymore so we would be OK being off strip if the offers were good enough.

Here are the details:

The e-mail that I sent: Hello, I have a question regarding my May-June Offers. Main Street Station is my "home" casino and I have always received offers of 3 nights per month from MSS. In addition, I also have always received offers from Sam's Town. My May-June offers showed up in my account recently and they are only for Sam's Town, they are only for 2 nights, and they are over a 2 month period instead of one month! This is a big change! I was wondering if I will still be getting offers from Main Street Station? I was also wondering why the offers have changed? I am looking to book a trip and the end of June/beginning of July and would like to be able to stay at Main Street Station with complimentary offers. Thank you.

The response: Thank you for the email.
Yes, we have big changes regarding our promotions.
As you can see, you offer has changed for May/June. They are now mailing out a couple offers at the same time and the offer is going to be completely different from what you used to get.
They have new offers, criteria and they are now looking at all your play from all the Boyd properties, not just downtown play if you home property is Fremont Cal or Main Street. Big changes!
You will now only receive one offer, not offers from different Boyd properties.
I’m so sorry.

Have a great day!

Needless to say, I am going to send a carefully crafted response to Boyd once I have calmed down! I am hoping that they will get as much backlash from these changes as they did from their YAH changes and will reconsider, but not getting my hopes up!

I'd love to hear if others have received similar responses. Thanks.
Yes- we also have long standing loyalty to Boyd properties actually started by a member on this board (Sue Casey) who got us to try Main Street Station. Many trips and stays over the years.
We migrated around to different LV properties over time and ended up at Gold Coast as our preferred property. As we planned a trip for April, I assumed that I would be able to stay and play at the GC but noticed I had no offers other than to pay for a room. I think this is a tactic to see how much they can reduce things (offers, free play, decent VP, etc) and still retain customers.
Whatever number of people they imagined, that is now minus us. That is our message to them- not showing up. Somebody at Boyd decided on this tactic as a strategy and I suspect that it will alienate many long term loyal fans.
We're going to try SLS.
As the great Jean Scott advises us, "Date but don't marry a casino...."
I'm a sapphire and have exclusively been a Boyd Casino patron since 2000. I go to Vegas twice a year for two weeks each time. I have had comped room offers at Sam's Town, MSS, Suncoast and Orleans for each trip. The offers have been cut back to two nights (May and June) at Sam's Town ONLY!!!! Have just returned from a two week (1/24 - 2/06) trip using one set of comps for Jan. and one for Feb. Now with only ONE two night offer for two months, I would have to pay for 12 nights. Therefore, I am saying GOOD BYE to Boyds.
I think they will have a lot of empty rooms with their new rules. Time will tell. it didn't take long to change back their Senior days program.

I didn't realize we'd receive only the free nites where we play the most, for us we each get the 4 nites at Suncoast but I just checked and I see my wife got two offers from the Orleans for two different slot tournaments in May that are new and each has 3 free nites. Maybe others will get these offers also to be able group with there May/June offers to extend there stay.
I, too,am an out of towner from Chicago who took three trips to Las Vegas each year and gambled exclusively at Sam's Town and Gold Coast. I am a Sapphire and would always receive comp room offers from both casinos. For March and April, I didn't receive a comp room offer from either casino, and for May-June, I received only 2 free nights for Sam's Town. It is so obvious they are trying to cut back on their offers to out of towners, (even those who gamble quite a bit). So I will be staying elsewhere when I take my next trip to Vegas in July! What a shame, and I am officially disgusted with Boyd!
Looks like a BOYDCOTT is starting!!
where is sue casey when we need her-----she had a heavy tie -in with the mgmt. folks at mss and could get us some answers----is she still around?--,hope she is ok---

at least you were able to get a detailed response to your e-mail------looks like they are only giving out one offer from one property per month eliminating back to back stays at different properties---would not be bad if additional days were added on to the one property---

I'm guessing that Sue Casey is still celebrating the Cubs' World Series win.
I just made sapphire in Oct 2016 and I got the 3 free nights "congratulations you've made sapphire!" I have used my 3 free night at the Cal for Christmas day for 3 days. I haven't received any other free room offers. I'm still sapphire but only by a slim margin. This may be the reason I haven't gotten any other free room offers.
