Boyd's Downtown Properities

Can anyone tell me how play at downtown Boyd properties other than your "home" property is treated for purposes of generating offers and comps at your "home" property?

In other words, if I have designated MSS as my "home" property downtown, and I do some play at the Cal, or Fremont during my MSS sponsored stay, is that play considered in future MSS offers?

When traveling to Chicago, I needed a place to stay. Called The Blue Chip in Indiana (Boyd property, used B Connected card). They looked up my card and gave me a free room for the night. Sweet!

I gambled a LOT there, and lost pretty badly. A couple of months later when I went to book MSS they said I didn't have enough play for 4 nights. I asked them if they saw the play at The Blue Chip. They said "how does my playing at The Blue Chip benefit MSS?". So in answer to your question, I guess I have no idea.
I'm not positive, but it is my understanding that your play for all three casinos is counted for your offers at Main Street.
Boyd does seem to group their LV properties into "Downtown" (Fremont, MSS and California) and "Locals" (Gold Coast, Sun Coast, Orleans, Sam's Town) categories, so what you are saying would be in keeping with that practice.

It would nice to confirm that is in fact the case.

The one thing they don't seem to combine, at least in my experience is for discretionary comps. If you play a little bit at, say MSS and some at the Cal, and you ask cor a comp to 777 or the steakhouse at the Cal, I'm not sure the host can see your play at both places. Perhaps the computers don't get reconciled until the end of the day. I don't think this affects marketing offers, juse food comps.

A couple of times I've tried this and have been disappointed with the amount of the comp I've received.
I stay from 9 to 11 comped nights at the Orleans, two or three times a year. I also get mailers for Gold Coast and MSS, three nights and free food offers from other Boyd downtown casinos. When I ask for a comp I have never been turned down. I don't know if this helps or not. I play VP and in the pit, 10,000 base points per day at any property on VP and pit at the $100 level on avg. I play one or the other but seldom both in the same day.
For what it's worth;
A friend of mine stayed at MSS in September, with $75 free play, food coupon book and 4 free nights.
He charged all meals to his room. He played mostly at the Cal, and some at the Fremont and MSS. He thought he had played about the same coin in between the 3 properties, but did not know his coin in nor point total. At checkout, MSS did not pickup all of his charged meals(reduced discretionary comps). His latest offer is $35 free play and 4 free nights.
Although I don't know about this for sure, if a player wants to get stuff comped and plays at more than one casino during the trip, maybe s/he should tell the host to check the play at and then you would name the Boyd connected Downtown LV casinos that you played at.

My play at MSS and the Cal have afforded me joint offers from those 2 hotels. Nothing from the Fremont. Ditto at the Gold coast and Orleans. Play a good amount at both and get week nights frtee from GC and any 2 free Plus $10.00 in food from Orleans. Little from Suncoast or Sams, which I seldom frequent!
I only get good offers from the Boyds I play at most often...ST and Orleans. Get smaller offers from GC & SC and nothing from down town (havn't played there in several years). Emerald card only impresses casinos when you are new to them...your play there will determine future offers.
