Bummer about the Hilton!

Hope the property can hang in there without the Hilton name.....they better come up with something for the business traveler...with the conventions the Hlton Honors visitors were loyal and now we will lose all the Hilton perks that made the property worth staying at.
Yes...hopefully comps increase to make up for loss of HH benefits.
Anybody know the date when the change takes effect? I was hoping they could work something out with Hilton. This is too bad, not sure we'll be staying there without the extras being Gold/Diamond Hhonors got you.
I agree. i think they applied for the name change. All the other issues are still in court so we can hope but it does not look good.

I think this is suicide. With the convention center proximity they are underestimating the volume they bring that are Hilton Honors guests for different conventions.

I am with you I love the place and the people but I am out if I lose the Honors perks.

I checked reservations on the Hilton website, it allows for booking an end of December room with early January check out. If you ask for rooms with a January or later checkin, it tells you rooms are not available for the requested date and to try dates a week before or a week after your desired date. Didn't matter what days I requested, rooms weren't available through the Hilton website.

The gold HH perks influenced our staying at the LVHilton over other comped hotels offers we received.

We received our January and February slot tournament offers and they are the same as we had been receiving in 2011. I just noticed they still say "Las Vegas Hilton" in many places, not Las Vegas Hotel.
I am there next week...I will find out quickly on this one!
Agree it could definately hurt their Conv. hotel bookings., but doubt it will affect Conv. biz.
Sorry for the high HH members though........

I have HH, but my LVH offers have no bearing on staying there, as my HH points too low.

I book a comp room there from time to time because its easy to get 4 comp nites & $100 FP,
usually $50 food, etc..........offers like that. So when an extra room is needed? I book it.

PS, last time stayed there, the check in lines were Super LONG.....ALL of them.
So went into VIP (didn't deserve it but went in & played dumb) told her I'm comped,
and the lines are super long, Can you check me in? She said sure. lol

CLV, that's the line I use. If that gets crowded
then I go into the VIP room to the left of the
front desk. You just go through the doors and
they have several ladies at various desks.

Just say, Howdy, I'm CLV and I'm ready to play." LOL

BTW, Here's the official answer from LVH:

"Dear JJJJ21,

The Las Vegas Hilton is excited to announce that effective January 2,1012, we will be changing our name to the LVH-Las Vegas Hotel & Casino! Although our name will be changing, all of the things you love about your gaming experience at this Las Vegas icon will NOT change: your exclusive gaming and dining offers, your unique player's club benefits & rewards, exciting casino events & promotions, the best race & sports book in Las Vegas, the thrilling casino action, excellent restaurants and entertainment and the same great level of customer service. We look forward to seeing you there!"

Then they go on to mention the events and promos coming up along with my offers.

I suspect that with the LVH's poor finances and a deteriorating property Hilton wanted out.
That's the One, jjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjj
Yes, all those ladies at their desks.........it was Me, and The 4 Tops checking in. lol

I swear some Motown band was checking in the same time I was.
Talk about sticking out like a sore thumb, but she checked me in anyway.
