Cannery ???

Hello!

I'm looking for info on the Cannery Hotel/Casino (on Craig Rd.). It seems that there's quite a bit of discussion on the Eastside Cannery, but not the North Las Vegas one. We're trying to decide if we should stay at Sam's Town or the Cannery. We've stayed at Sam's before and thought it was average, but at least we know what we're getting. But we thought maybe we'd try someplace new and we prefer a casino that has a theater and it's come down to these 2 choices. So, any info that you can supply, especially if you've stayed there, pro/con would be appreciated.

Also, I've noticed that we can get the hotel room quite a bit cheaper by purchasing through Priceline. Is there any cons to that? (We probably won't be gambling enough to get our room comped.)

Thanks much!
P.S. We always have a car and enjoy the casinos away from the strip, so that won't be a problem.
Fairly busy Locals casino. Never stayed there.
Sue goes there regularly, so she may have more info for ya.
Cannery rooms are just average -- like a Holiday Inn or something. They have excellent restaurants.
Have you considered staying at Aliante? Casino is newer, brighter, has a good selection of games and a theatre.

We've stayed at Aliante. Loved the rooms; hated the resort fee!! We only considered Cannery since we haven't tried that one, yet. I'm curious if the room is any better than Sam's, which we thought was just average.

Thanks for the responses
High resort fees are a bummer. I will not stay at a Station Casino because of the excessive resort fees. They say they luv locals anyway, which I am not. I either stay at a Caesars Group Las Vegas with no resort fee or the Orleans with a modest $6 per night resort fee.
We stayed at the Cannery. It is really a fun casino. The rooms were very pleasent. While enjoying the outdoor swimming pool we even got to view the jets flying into the airforce base. Thought it was really cool to watch them. The Waverly's steak house is wonderful. They usually have lots of fun deals. Free t shirts and things with points. The handicapped rooms were very handy. Laughs some handicapped rooms are too small to get around in, the Cannery's rooms were quite comfortable even with my husband's scooter. Have a good time on your trip. Mary
