Circa vs. Station Resorts

Sunset Station gives us a good deal. It has a coffee pot and for $10 per day you can get a fridge which gives us a casual no rush breakfast.

Casino is low key with a friendly staff.

$10 a day for a fridge seems ludicrous. Most places charge $2 or $3 extra for a room with a micro fridge. But that's Stations for you--they will nickel and dime you to death.

That aside, Sunset Station is a pretty good place to visit. Their clientele is 95% locals, so the vibe is different. Pity that the Stations players' club is so horrible now.

kevin is wrong yet again

$10 per day is standard for a casino hotel.  Chains such as the Hampton Inn have refrigerators as standard.

That's what's been helping the gouge--overpay for something and then tell yourself that it's "standard." Hey, if it makes you feel better...

I was surprised that Sunset station rooms did not have a fridge in all the rooms.  We are staying there next month, and hope to have one.  It has been a few years, and I don't remember about the last time.

It's such a basic amenity, it should be in every room--or provided for free. You have a property with several restaurants. People like to take leftovers back to their rooms. Charging for a fridge is like charging towel rent.

Oh shit, I just gave them an idea.

Wow,  fridge usually comes standad in most casino rooms in Vegas.  We've had fridges in all the spots we have stayed over the years.   Usually a $10 extra per day if you want rent a microwave.

On Fremont or non strip properties, yes.  But on the strip they are mini bars and if you so much as pick up and look at a bottle or can in the fridge you'll be charged the $37 for the can of beer.

Thanks for all the comments. Long time LVA fan, first time using the forums. I should have known this group of smart gamblers would also be helpful. Much appreciated. Good luck to all of you!

Mostly correct, except they give you 30 seconds or so to look and replace the item before charging the guest.  Plus, they are good to remove any charge if you call the front desk any time or mention it upon check out.  What I think they CAN ding you for is if you try to use this fridge to store your own items.  Probably can contest that also, but I haven't tried it and wouldn't.

What I never got is that most have the little Bombay gin bottles, but never any tonic water!  I always forget to put that on my survey.  I mean...what else would ya do with the gin?   Maybe next time :(
