Disappointed in Red Rock

I'm a big fan of RR, having stayed there on the last 6 trips (and I have a pretty good host there). So I was looking forward to my first slot tourney there. I've been in well over 30 tourneys at various casinos in LV (all invitational) and I anticipated RR being better than most...boy was I disappointed.
I'll give them points for easy registration for the tourney and the light snacks were nice...but thats the best I can say for it.
No assigned times...the cattlecall setup. Two five minute sessions (just 2 and only 5 minutes each...you've got to be kidding) on machines located out in the middle of everything. And the machines...no red, white and blue, no 7's...nothing easy to understand. Those games that have all the pictures! Never did figure out what I was getting points for, so just kept hitting the buttons and looking for win totals. I ended up with a score of 8950, but the score keeper said they didn't bother writting anything down that was less than 9200...so much for totaling your scores!
Needless to say I didn't bother with the second session.
I'll keep coming to RR, because I love it and I'm lucky there (kept my streak of $ Royals going)...but no more tourneys with them!
What a disappointment!

Sams Town still ranks at the top for making their tourneys FUN.
Bill, did you mention your disappointment to your host?Bet they would appreciate the input.
Uh-oh. I got a tourney at GVR tomorrow. Wonder if it will be similar?
CLV: aacck, maybe I saw you and didn't know it? I'm currently at GVR taking advantage of their free hospitality and the slot tourney - which was nothing special but I don't expect much for free. These machines were the 7s and red/white/blue but it doesn't matter to me what the symbols were as I'm not a slot player and I just tap the button for five minutes and come what may. Which resulted in nada - but I got a free continental breakfast so I came away with something!

I've done 2 tourneys at GVR, both were $50k. Great banquet, huge buffets during the tourneys and they were held in one of their meeting rooms. Set times, 15 minutes each, 3 sessions. Great tourneys.
Sounds like the smaller tourneys are pretty much run of the mill.
Cap'n: yah, this latest GVR tourney was a cattle call - line up, get your 5 minutes in, leave. It was held in the Events Center downstairs (I didn't even know GVR had a downstairs!).

Received a call yesterday from a host at RR in response to my email comments (same as I wrote above). Bummer is my host has left RR (wanted more family time...young mom), so I got assigned to a new one. Seems nice enough on the phone and made promises?
Stated that he had heard numerous complaints on the tournament, mostly the same as mine, and they were looking at changing them. He is putting me on the short list for the bigger tourneys.
