dNew Grazie club changes at Venetian/Palazzo- comped nights are back

Just got this email from V/P tonight. Looks like they have revamped the Grazie Club and made some changes on how points can be used.. Points can now be used for dining, etc. and comped nights appear to be back. (I am gold at V/P, if that matters). Here is the email-

It wasn't many years ago I got twice my FP for bringing in a gas receipt. Their loss, I'm moving on down the Strip. They are not to be trusted.

I received the very same e-mail, and I was wondering why they were so specific in detailing what your play earned. So let's say you run $30,000 through a combination of machines (entitling you to a Gold Card) that when averaged out, gave the casino a 5% hold rate. The theoretical win rate for the casino would have been $1500. If you are Gold, you get back 9% of that $1500 which amounts to $135.

So, on your way to becoming a Gold Member at Venetian / Palazzo, you would earn $135 in comps. That's a lot of money to run through with very little in benefits. I wonder if they would then apply that $135 to your "comped" room. All I know is, $135 in comps wouldn't last very long at V/P. Could you even get 1 good seat to the Phantom of the Opera or Jersey Boys for that? Could you get 1 gourmet dinner for 2 with that?

Farmer, you may have missed it, but in the original post I stated I'm gold at V/P. (Been gold for 3 years). I stay there 3-4 times per year and I play only video poker. (Single line, multi line, and super times pay).

Take the free rooms and then stiff em!

Well I got my e-mail today but since I am such a low roller I don't get free rooms. The will most generously offer me Sunday to Thursday for $129.00 and weekends for 169.00. Thanks but no thanks.
Anyway I'm sure just about everyone who is on their radar will get one of these e-mails and the rooms will either be free or "reduced" depending on your rating.
Last year before the change I was getting four to five pieces of mail per week from V/P with all my offers giving me free rooms and free play. So they must have done a massive evaluation to determine who they feel is still worthy and who is not. They don't need me but luckily I don't need them either!

I want to know how many people started to read that headache of an email, said "what the hell does this mean?" and hit delete.

I got the $129/$169 offer as well, along with $125 or $75 in freeplay, depending upon length of stay.

Sounds very Wynn-like.
