dNew Grazie club changes at Venetian/Palazzo- comped nights are back

Industry standard is 20% reinvestment so 6% is a HUGE big finger in the air, especially for slot players where you are pretty much guaranteed to lose.

The V/P hasn't been a decent play for over 2 years I sort of surprised there is so much talk about it!

I got the $129/$169 offer as well, along with $125 or $75 in freeplay, depending upon length of stay.

Sounds very Wynn-like.

Thanks, V/P, but I'll be earning my "theoretical loss" elsewhere.

I got this offer and called to speak with a host. I wanted to know what they expect.
The host was very polite and walked me through it.

Well I see you play minibac. We estimate that game at 100 hands per hour. OK.
We expect an average bet of $250 per hand for four hours per day.

That is $100,000 of money put at risk.
The theoretical loss is 1.2%.
They want a theoretical loss of $1,200 per day for a free room.

What about people playing the large table, average about 40 hands per hour.
In that case you need to be betting over $500 per hand.

Well folks, that is the identical conversation I had over at the Wynn last year.

Looks like this year I am headed over to MGM . I have been getting very nice offers at Bell and Aria.

Just went through all my emails. A year ago, I had free rooms with a slot tourny at V/P. Now, no more free rooms, just the special $129 rate. That's not really special, considering all the room comp offers I get from Harrah's (or Caesar's, whatever they're called now), the Station casinos, and M resort. We didn't even stop at V/P this trip. Sounds like they don't need our money anymore..
It appears the offers differ on the level of your play. Whereas before, the offers depended on your "tier" level (tier 1,2,3,etc). Now the offers go by the last letter in your offer code. (This has been mentioned in another thread). If you sign in to your Grazie offers, and change the last letter of your code in the address bar, this is what you will get-

(The offers include 3 categories: room type, freeplay, and dining credit). If your offer code ends in-

I must be an R or an S, because I haven't had any contact whatsoever from V/P since they called me the day before my arrival and told me I was going to have to pay a casino rate.
I just returned from Vegas - didn't put a foot into the Venetian/Palazzo complex. I am Gold and haven't received any e-mails either. I just checked my account on-line and the E-Mail is there under the title of E-Mail promotion - Gold and I get $129 Weekdays/$169 Weekends - makes me wanted to run right back there (not!)
Wow.

Las Vegas Sands cuts bait: Comps

Thanks jhowell. I hadn't heard the story came out Today.

Liz did a good job covering most of the bases, but those of us most closely involved,
know there is alot more to the story.

I think the "giving the middle finger" quote, to Sheldons customer base, was closest thing to the truth.
Just got back from several nights in Vegas in my comped room at M and comped suite at Paris -- and happily gave V/P the finger as a I drove by.

Overheard last night in Paris from a convention-goer (she was wearing a badge, which is how I knew): "Well, guess I'll go gamble the rest of my $11 and head up to bed."

Yep. I can totally see why convention business is more valuable to Sheldon. Why yank comps from someone who drops a couple of thou over a weekend when you can have Amy the Convention Attendee putting her $11 in a penny slot?
