Durango

We went to Duango 3 times last week and loved it.  Great place to watch games.  TVs everywhere Great drinks and wait staff were always around.  Half of all machines seemed to be Game Kings, with lots of low limits.  Pay tables seem to be the new norm almost everywhere off the strip. Parking was easy in and out and you won't smell like an ashtrey .  Craps were 10 and 15 dollar  depending on the time of day

According to VpFree2 and Anthony's scouting, the video poker paytables are pretty feeble. Better than the Strip. of course, but beeg deal. Every game below 99%, except for a few $1 99% games. And the Stations player's club is absolutely fuckin' pathetic, with a return of one-twentieth of one percent. Ecch!!

I can do much better by going to South Point or Emerald Island when I'm on that side of town. 100% VP games (with players' club). And plenty of good food and great customer service. I think I'll leave Durango unchained.

I have no plans to visit Durango - just like I have not visited Resorts World or Fontainebleau. I am sure that Durango looks great but I don't care to be ripped off and gouged with their pricing for rooms, food, drinks and gaming. I will continue to patronize the select group casinos that give me the best bang for my money.

I tend to visit a place at least once, but not sure about Durango unless we end up over by there for some reason.  Went to Resorts World once, but no need to do that again, and will visit the FB at least once since it's close to our timeshare.  Would rather play in places that value me as a customer, which means off strip or downtown compared to the strip.

They have a Shang's Artisan Noodle.  If its as good as their original location that makes Durango a worthy visit all by itself.

We went the other day.  Very nice casino. Standard Stations minimums & vp.  Food court was pricey & standard food court quality (mediocre).  Had a very well done burger, & the wife had a pricey so so chicken sandwich.

Miss the buffets:)

For me, the most remarkable thing about Durango is the windows. You can actually see outside, and it really makes for a more pleasant atmosphere. I had always heard that casinos try to hide the outdoors from you to keep you from realizing how much time has passed. This way is much better.

Also, the sportsbook is very attractive, the sort of book you might go to even if you don't have money on the game.

As far as Kevin's suggestion to instead go to Emerald Island: Well yeah, McDonalds offers more nutrition per dollar than Nobu. So if that's all you consider...

Yeah, I hear Durango is very nice. But you do pay for that atmosphere, if you eat or gamble there. In any case, I didn't "suggest" that you or anyone else go or don't go there.

And as to your McAnalogy...I'd put the food from the Emerald Island Grill up against anything Durango has to offer, and it would be about 1/4 the price.

Tom I'm with you on food courts or whatever they want to be called. We have no interest in them as we prefer a real restaurant and of course a buffet. I wonder how long it'll take before the new smell excitement wears off and the food courts are basically empty like Aliante, Green Valley Ranch etc. not for us.
