East side Cannery being sold.

The Eastside Cannery never reopened after Covid.   Boyd is finally deciding to sell it on the condition that the new owners don't make it into a casino.    So goodbye forever to the casino.

It had its heyday as part of what was supposed to become "The Boulder Strip," with Boulder Station, Sam's Town, and others. It was definitely a great bargain destination, even as the gambling they offered slowly deteriorated (in step/collusion with those other two properties).

My memory is staying there for three days and returning to the parking lot to find that my car had been meticulously broken into and selectively looted of various items. The rather full trunk had to have been unloaded to get at some of those rather bulky items, so this wasn't a smash-and-grab job. Turns out than Sam's had complete video of the entire thing, which took ten elapsed minutes. I referred that to the cops and filed a police report. Nothing was ever done, LOL. Vegas law enforcement strikes again!
