First stay at Aliante coming up--any tips?

My first time at Aliante will be later this month. Any tips on rooms locations, best restaurants etc. . . I have never been to North LV before. Is there anything else nearby that would be fun or a good spot to eat or drink?
Thanks!
Shannon
I like MKRT for dinner and the buffet for breakfast or brunch. Rooms that face the pool have the best view.
I like the ambiance and the fact that is is located away from the strip and caters to locals.
if you are driving, it's the easiest hotel we've experienced for checking in and out of.
either use valet park or there is a small parking area almost adjacent to the lobby entrance for unloading/loading your luggage.
inside the lobby, front desk and elevators are steps from each other.
it's a lot longer walk from the parking garage to the lobby area
rooms are nice (huge showers) (comfortable beds); casino is easy to find your way around.
good selection of video poker; nice sports book with lots of seating if you include adjacent bar area.
they need a coffee outlet, but with the closing of the Pancake House, the breakfast buffet now opens at 7 a.m.
we agree with MissL7777 on food options and ambiance.
it is off by itself, but that hasn't been an issue with the wife and myself.
Thanks for the advice and information.

When there, look for member Sue Casey.

She will gladly give you a personal tour of the place, including where all the "hot" machines are located.

I have never been out there, even though I tried
to make the 50 (seemed like) mile trip.

I had to turn back because I thought I was heading into another state's line and also I was running low on water.
It's convenient to everything, actually, since we're right at the 215 beltway. Go east on 215 to the 15 and it's a 25-minute drive to downtown (30-minute to the Strip). Go west on 215 to Charleston and you're at Red Rock (also a 25-minute drive).

I don't know where the hot machines are, lol.
Aliante is a beautiful casino unpopulated by customers. It was built on the come, in hopes that the Vegas boom would reach far north before collapsing. Oops!

As few Las Vegans not seeking California lottery tickets ever drive that far from home, its remains an undiscovered oasis of unrealized potential and compounding debt.
Yet, I've been there when the hotel was sold out and casino was packed.

Business has picked up a lot lately. (As usual, Chilcoot doesn't know what he's talking about, yet he talks, anyway.) And the hotel is always full.
Probably staying there for the first time during March madness. How is the sportsbook?
