First stay at Aliante coming up--any tips?

The sports book is very big, with really comfy chairs and lots of HD TV's, including a huge screen. Plus, there are tv's at every seat on the race side of the book. During busy times (for popular games) there is a cart selling $1 hot dogs and Budweisers. All lines are set by Stations corporate.
Reservations needed for an early Sunday dinner (6 pm) at Mrkt, Sue? Will be there Prez Day weekend.

Easiest check-in and check out of anywhere I've stayed.

Small, very nice hotel.

Good buffet

Good video poker

Fred, I really don't know how busy MRKT will be on Sunday of Pres. Day weekend. I'd suggest a reservation, just to be sure.

It's convenient to everything, actually, since we're right at the 215 beltway. Go east on 215 to the 15 and it's a 25-minute drive to downtown (30-minute to the Strip). Go west on 215 to Charleston and you're at Red Rock (also a 25-minute drive).

I don't know where the hot machines are, lol.

You just have to throw Sue a hundred dollar bill and she will remember.

I think the buffet is the best of the Station's. It out-does Red Rock Station which I find disappointing these days (had a very mediocre experience at Red Rock this last year).

If you feel the need to visit another casino, the Cannery is not too far, and it has lots of really low rolling choices.

By the standards of Aliante, Cannery is indeed close, but it's still an eight mile drive away.

For comparison's sake, Sam's Town is actually a shorter drive from downtown's casinos than Cannery is to remote Aliante.

You can make a reservation using Opentable.

The Cannery is a 15-minute drive from Aliante. Going in the opposite direction, Santa Fe is also a 15-minute drive from Aliante. Texas Station and Fiesta Rancho are a 20-minute drive.

In less than 30 minutes, you can get to Red Rock, Suncoast, Rampart, or downtown.

Aliante is NOT "remote."
Aliante is very nice and has a great staff. It is an easy drive from the airport, in my opinion. I also like the gambling at Aliante.

The short answer jhawkgrl is that you will enjoy your stay and I hope you leave with a W-2g.
