First stay at Aliante coming up--any tips?

Fredo, I'd suggest reservations. Sometimes restaurants staff based on the number of reservations.
If MRKT is packed, you can always dine at the bar.
Sue, I was thinking, if you're at Aliente, there's no reason to go to Santa Fe, Texas or Fiesta. You're already at one of the best Station casinos (though Santa Fe and Fiesta have full pay Joker Poker).

But if you're heading to Santa Fe, Big Dog has their brewery a block away. There's a reason to travel, to find a brewery.

Two other things close to Aliente: Valley of Fire and Vegas Speedway.

By the way, I took Bard and his wife out to Aliente for their first visit last August. They both loved the place. Possibly the least smokiest casino they've found.

I agree, it's easy. Good freeways nearly the whole way.

It's also very long, more than 26 miles and 37 minutes by the fastest route. In fact, that drive is longer and takes more time to travel than does the journey to any other casino hotel of note in Vegas.

It's really nice though, once you get there.
Lisa, thanks. I had completely forgotten that dining at the bar is an option.

You're welcome.
IMHO, anyone who goes to Aliante knows it's located in North Las Vegas and will plan accordingly. Part of the charm of being on vacation or visiting a new area is seeing the area. Traveling to Aliante gives one a chance to see a side of the Las Vegas Valley away from the strip and downtown.

Chilcoot, I don't understand your obsession with time and distance getting to and from Aliante. Do you live somewhere where everything in your life ls located 15 to 20 minutes from your home?
I think Chilcoot's comments have been informative. One should not expect to be at Aliente in 15 minutes. If one stays at Aliente, you should be aware it's 15 minutes or so from downtown, and farther from the Strip. It's not like being at the Flamingo where you'll stop in on the Strip 3 times a day.

My first trip out to Aliente, it seemed like a long ways. I drove past Santa Fe Station which always seemed like too far, then still had to head east.

Now, I drive on 15 to Craig. I visit Cannery and Aliente, and it doesn't seem all that far. Recently, I was at Boulder Station. Got hungry. Got in the car and drove out to Aliente because I prefer its buffet to Boulder's. It seemed like nothing.

When I first started driving to M, it seemed like it was way far south. Now, not so much.
Red Rock seemed like it was too far. Now, I'm going to Red Rock canyon almost every day.

I seriously doubt one expects to be at Aliante in 15 minutes or so when staying on the strip or even downtown. It's apparent that it's located in North Las Vegas.
I think Aliante can be a terrific option for a small subset of the millions who visit Vegas each year. The facility itself is very nice, but its remote location is a huge handicap against the sort of vacation most Las Vegas visitors seek. I could make a go of it, but I don't think the typical casual Vegas visitor would be happy being plunked down out in the North Las Vegas tumbleweeds, so far from most of the delights they typically seek.

I write simply in the spirit of nosce te ipsum and caveat emptor
We stayed here last March. I loved the place.Good machines and Bingo and we loved the buffet.
Also met Sue there she is a sweetheart. Unfortunitly our daughter showed up we'll we where staying here. And she was on the strip so we spent a lot of time on the strip. So very little gambling here. So our offers dryed up. Too bad we would stay here again. But we have comped night at other casino.
Won't pay for a room (and resort fees) when we have free rooms at other hotels.
