Gold Coast Suggestions

I am staying at the Gold Coast in about a month where I am attending a conference at the Rio. Any suggestions, words of advice and tips about this property would be greatly appreciated. I have already booked an upgraded "premium" room.

And please refrain from the smart ass remarks such as "... don't stay there".
By all means eat at Ping Pang Pong, which has the best dim sum in town and is listed as one of Las Vegas's 50 essential restaurants.
Specifically request a room that is not at the end of the hallway on a high floor.
The hot water sometimes does not seem to make it that far.

Otherwise my wife and I really like the place. Clean, nice employees, good restaurants, easy comps, low limits, etc.
We will be staying there on our next trip in March.
It does have a shuttle that's pretty reliable and convenient.

It goes to the Strip (Bill's) and to The Orleans.

I like the Gold Coast. They have more lower limit blackjack tables than their neighbors at the Palms and especially the Rio. I've heard great things about Ping Pang Pong but have never eaten there. Their steakhouse, the Cortez Room, is good and more affordable than many steakhouses in town. There's often a good happy hour at TGI Fridays near the elevators. The rooms are clean, were remodeled just a few years ago. The bathrooms tend to be a little small but I would certainly stay at the Gold Coast again.

T.H.
I, too, LOVE Ping Pang Pong. BUT I hate playing at the GC. It really doesn't pay. Never been in any of their rooms, so no comment on that.
I've stayed there a couple of times, and my brother is staying there right now. I introduced him to the place. Basic rooms, window in the shower. He gets the regular room, though...not the premium room. The colors just make the room look cold. If I remember right the cable TV offerings aren't that great, though (I go for 10 days, my brother goes for 15, so yes, we watch TV when we're out there).
The ice cream shop is great. The shrimp cocktail you can get there for $1.99 is as good as Golden Gate's.
I always get a hot dog or two at the sports book, too.
We definitely miss the coffee shop, though. I always ate there a lot. Fridays...not so much.
If you're walking to the Rio make sure you don't try to walk through the parking garage. Walk around it and look for the opening in the fence on the Rio property...it's on the west side, leads into the little parking lot.
I always ask for a room at the end of the hall so people don't walk past my room and wake me up (I'm a light sleeper). If your room faces north you'll hear the garbage truck in the mornings...can wake you up.
Ping Pang Pong. The 9/6 JoB STP near the Players Club booth.

The updated rooms are OK. I get room 1244 (I think) when I stay there. An older two room suite with nice views of the Palms and Strip.

Have fun.
I really like the gold coast!

I stayed in December and enjoyed it. I like the buffet (I've have read a lot of bad things) I have only ate breakfast and thought it was great, and the price is around $5? and it's very easy to get this comped. The upgraded rooms were nice. I really like the convience of a smaller property. You can leave your room and be to your car in less than five minutes! Also the staff was so nice and accomodating. I was room hoping and had checked out of one hotel and thought I would try to check into the gold coast early. I was meeting friends at 10 am at a trade show and my mother wanted to gamble (so, it would be nice if we could check in). No, problem I drove up to check in, walked in, No problems, 10 minutes later was checked in, took the luggage to the room and was on my way to the trade show!
