Gold Coast Suggestions

Ping Pang Pong and the Noodle Exchange are great.

The buffet, is acceptable if you have the proper standards for such. It's good for a cheap breakfast for me and whoever I usually bring. Lunch is fine, I'll pass on dinner though.

I love staying at Gold Coast on solo trips, ignore the haters.
Another vote for either Asian restaurant plus the steakhouse is very good. They have a sports bar next to the steakhouse where you can also get a sandwich anytime along with a generous happy hour.

Lots of loose choice for video poker.

Upgraded rooms are nice with a new flatscreen TV...rooms that are not upgraded are clean but, old.

They usually have lots of daily specials for b-connected card holders so check that out.

We would always recommend staying at GG rather than Rio. You can also walk across the street to Palms if you like.

As someone else said, the shuttle will get you to the strip.

Have a good time.
The hot dogs at the Sports Book are a MUST. But beware, the cart closes early!
What time does the hot dog cart close at?

I stay at the Gold Coast at least a few days every year when I come to Vegas. I will contradict everyone and just say The Cortez Room/steak house, you want to stay away from if you like a good steak. A better, great steak is to be had for yes, more money elsewhere, but worth it.
Rkobyl, Please let us know what you think of the place when you get back. I have a premium room booked there in april comped, but have never stayed there. I like the casino though.
"HHHBS1".... I will certainly let you know when I return regarding my experience at the Gold Coast.
Here's a tip about Gold Coast: If you are going to play 9/6 Jacks Or Better there, carefully check out the entire pay schedule to make sure that the Royal Flush is paying 4,000 coins for a five-coin insertion. I mention this because one of the last times that I was there I noticed some of the machines were paying 2,500 coins for the Royal Flush! That is bad since it reduces the game's return by about 0.75% (to about 98.75%)!

Thanks for that tip. I'm planning to play there Sunday evening after getting into town, and am not sure I would've noticed that.

You're very welcome! People always should take the time before sitting down at a machine to make sure that everything is paying what it should be paying.

You never know when a casino might do something screwy like that.

What happened to me when I noticed this was that a couple of years ago I was there using the POV/MRB coupon for getting Freeplay after playing some money through and I had initially played on these machines paying 2,500 for the Royal. I did not notice that when I was playing my own money through but when I came back to run the Freeplay through, then I noticed the Royal paying 2,500 coins and I was quite upset!

So beware and always check machine pay schedules entirely out.
