Interesting Red Rock Offer + Comparison with 5x Points at El Co

I called to get info because online I couldn't see the details but it's for March 22 to the 31st and for 2 comped nights during that time. Others might get more but my offer was for a $50 Best Buy gift card and based on play during a 48-hour period you get in addition to the gift card the following:

65,000 points -- 22" Samsung TV (or $200 Cash -- I'm pretty sure the person said cash rather than a GC but can't remember. It was definitely not free slot play.)

110,000 points -- 32" TV (or $400 Cash/GC)

220,000 points -- 46" TV (or $800 Cash/GC)

The tv is a better deal but I don't need one so I would take the cash. I don't think Stations is doing the multiplier day offers anymore but playing 65k (which is a lot I know) on a 2x points day would earn you $130 in comps + the 22" TV or cash/GC + the initial $50 GC. Good deal. For anyone out there who is a senior and gets the one day a week as a multiplier day (I think you guys get one day a week ) that would of course be a good day to play.

The host with whom I spoke said he could add a third day. Nice guy. I chatted with him a bit about what folks think about what Stations is doing and it sounds like they are really getting an earful. Hopefully that'll make a difference.

Edited to add: I thought about this a bit more. There's no way I'd earn 110k points in 2 days. For me 65k in two days is about my limit, so with about $30k coin in each day (on less than full pay VP because full pay VP requires 4x as many points), I'd earn the $200 in cash or a tv, which I understand is worth about $400.

I also have an offer at El Cortez, which includes 5x points for one day. While it's true that El Cortez is not RR I'll have a Cosmo stay during this trip and that's where I hope to spend most of my time in any event.

If I played $30k coin in on my 5x points day at El Cortez, I'd earn $300 in FSP plus more points as I understand it that I could use for food PLUS another $70 in FSP for my second day of play (another $35k coin in), for a total of $370 in FSP + some amount (I don't know) for food comps.

Comparing apples to apples at Red Rock I'd turn the 65,000 points into $65 FSP + I'd have the $200 cash and the $50 Gift Card. Coin in for coin in I'd come out ahead playing heavily at El Cortez and wouldn't feel pressured to try and get to $65k coin in at RR in 2 days to get the $200 in cash or TV.

I think I'm going to take a pass on the Red Rock offer. In theory I could do both but that's a lot of heavy playing that I'd be doing at those 2 casinos and I'm at heart a CET and Cosmo gal and plan to do most of my playing at CET casinos and The Cosmopolitan.

I'd be curious to hear comments about what I've outlined above.

Stations did away with the senior point multiplier on Wednesdays some time ago. All you get now is half-price-with-points meals until 6:00, and a free slot tournament if you've played enough on that day.

Wow Chrest. That sucks. Stations is really scaling back all around.

The Senior Day multiplier does pop back in every so often for a single month, but it is rare.

Sam's Town did away with their Senior Day multiplier, too. But they added a game spin in the kioske - not as good, in my opinion.

FFlowers, thanks for posting the details of the late March RR offer. We have that offer too, but I dismissed it as being some sort of basketball viewing party. Good to know the RR offer is something more interesting than basketball (to us, anyway).

We might go if we can combine it with something else interesting, like the GVR slot tournament which will be held the week before.

BCC -- I had the same reaction as you re: the dates when I saw them. I was thinking "this is about basketball" and "Ï am not interested though big brother would love it." Glad to share info as I get it!

Edited to add: BCC, if you or anyone with this offer chooses the tv option then the RR offer is that much better. I live in a tiny apartment and am set with tvs so don't need another but for anyone thinking about purchasing a tv anyway (and I assume delivery would be free) then the RR promo can be especially good and with respect to my comparison with El Co, the RR offer would be better than the El Co 5x promo (that's assuming I'd play a lot a RR or EC, not at both places).
Hey FFlowers,

If I'm remembering correctly (and I'm pretty sure that I am), I believe that at El Cortez, you actually have your choice between getting FSP or actual CASH plus there is a separate Comp Account that can be used for Food, Drink or at the Gift Shop and possibly elsewhere there as well.

So check into that!

Thanks RecVPPlayer. I didn't know you could turn points into cash. That's great. I know there's a separate account that accumulates at the same time that you only use for food or beverage. It's this second pot for which I don't know how the amount is determined. Whatever it is it's nice that it's icing on the cake of the 5x points, especially if I can get the cash for the same point value as FSP.
You're very welcome!

Actually, it was just cashback (for the main account) that they were paying for a long time -- the Freeplay is a more recent development.

But some people like the option of playing Freeplay and being able to get to that $ immediately at the machine. I myself would prefer to (if I have a choice between Cash or Freeplay) take the $ and run!

I did cash out points for cash during my June 2012 visit, so I know that it can be done.

And I have been able to use the Comp Dollars at the Gift Shop at El Cortez, so check into that option as well if you're interested!

FF- I think you are right on about ditching the RR offer. Sounds like too much, and since most
of us have tv's out our ears........why keep Trying to temp us with tv's?
Also, really glad you spoke with a host & put your 2c. in. I hope they come to their senses.
Reminds me of Ven/Pal couple years ago...............they learned the hard way too.........

I did get ONE new offer in my Stations acct. last night, for RR......seems like 2 nites free,
but no mention of anything else. meh.

Guess I'm one of the few ElCo. holdouts, but that place just couldn't temp me away from the Strip.

I DO like your Cosmo plan. Have 2 nites there next mo. with The FAM. Those rooms are the bomb.
