Be as cautious, prudent, intimidated, logical or illogical as you want to be. It is a free country. Time to live life and make personal choices that you wish to. I head up to the bar to play VP my choice if I play next to someone smoking like a chimney. If you are concerned about the potential of people not being vaccinated keep your distance or gamble at off times. No one should require anyone to show vax papers. This is America stop the madness, so glad all these restrictions are going away. Florida, Texas and Georgia have all provided the data to support getting rid of all the ridiculousness. So glad Vegas is there now as well. Been out there 5 times the last year and can't wait to get back in 3 weeks!😎
But...but..."data to support getting rid of all the ridiculousness." Ahem, isn't it "all the ridiculousness" that has brought the virus way, way down? I'm sure slate as much as anyone appreciates that the danger/likelihood/whatever of being infected with Covid-19 and maybe getting really sick, and maybe dying, is way, way less than it was a year ago. That didn't just happen on its own.
My thanks to all the mask-wearing, distance keeping, hand sanitizing friends and neighbors and businesses who contributed to my health and safety. Not to mention the science people involved in developing the vaccines and getting them out to us so very quickly. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!

No, you quoted a fragment of a sentence and then used it out of context. Man up and admit what you did. You basically lied.

I concur. A LOT of the effort expended to beat back the virus was and will remain hidden. It includes, in addition to literally billions of person-hours spent, the navigation of things like overwork, emotional exhaustion, grief, uncertainty, and fear. There are countless stories that will remain untold.
I am particularly grateful for the efforts of my neighbors to continue to behave responsibly, even when the Orange Asshole, Fox News, the nimrod standing on the corner holding a sign and screaming, etc. etc. etc. were verbally and sometimes physically assaulting them and bleating that the virus was fake/would go away magically/was a Deep State hoax/wasn't really killing anybody/could only infect Democrats (remember some of our choicest Trumptards saying that last year)---trying to shame them for wearing masks and social distancing.
And in the course of my obeying all the "ridiculousness," I had to dodge people on the street who weren't wearing masks and/or would just pass within an inch of me with no regard for my safety or theirs. I had to wait patiently in line, six feet apart--sometimes for half an hour or more--at the grocery store, the bank, and the pharmacy. I had to detour around the guy who had set up a little booth on the sidewalk and was trying to get people to sign a petition to recall the governor because she had enacted Covid restrictions--and I overheard him saying that what he really wanted was for her to be killed. I wonder if he showed up at the Capitol on Jan. 6.
Red state governors killed thousands of their constituents by reopening too early, and they sold that reckless stupidity by mocking those states--and those persons--who continued, correctly, to be cautious. Here in Oregon, we never had really high infection rates or "surges" because the people in the population centers behaved sensibly. I'm very, very grateful for that. Every no-masking RepubliQ who pranced around the streets added to my chances of getting sick and/or dying--so I'm grateful there were so few of those jackasses where I live.
Politics killed people during this pandemic, and those RepubliQ who stood in the way of progress against it should be deeply ashamed of themselves--even if their only contribution to the mayhem was voting for Donald Trump. There can be no forgiveness for that. Thank God I live in a Democratic state full of good people who are intelligent enough to listen to the scientists!
Politics killed people during this pandemic,
Such as governors cuomo, murphy & whitmer who sent infected people to nursing homes that were not equipped to handle them.
Red state governors killed thousands of their constituents by reopening too early
Another lam lie. Already shown that this had no effect. Those states economies are surging & people are returning to work, which is good for people's health.
How about dr doubletalk's emails which show he was aware that the virus could have been manufactured, but publicly denying it.

Only a truly loyal Trumper conservitard would defend the actions, or should I say the inaction, of the previous administration. But Tommie-poo drank the Kool-aid long ago and is a true believer, continuing to lick Trump and praise his name.
Does anybody but me recall this forum thread was originally discussing the high room rates at Motel 6? It has evolved into "Kitchen Sink Two."
Yes. Some tried to get it back on topic, keep it light hearted. But stupidddd name calling wins out every time. The head bully starts it; others can't resist a retort or ten. Letting go, dropping the subject, "agree to disagree" isn't in their playbook. And this is the Local Hotels forum!
No bully-safe zone anymore.

You probably think I'm the "head bully," but a simple perusal of this thread will reveal that the nastiness started with another of Boilerman's personal attacks on me. But that's par for the course. (And you can ignore it if you wish, to try to prove your point.)
Candy, you haven't been immune to this, either, so please drop the holier-than-thou bullcrap. I agree that the personal insult nonsense should be confined to the Sink. But the reality is that Boiler, Tommie-poo, and the late, great Stalker have tracked down my posts on dozens of other sub-forums and posted insults--because I disagree with their ideology and Trump-love.
It's true, though; I shouldn't respond to their shit.

Good point Kevin. I saw that done numerous times in newspaper headlines during the last presidential election cycle. Headline writers would take part of a sentence from a candidate and put quotation marks around those words and then place other words on either side of the quoted words to make it read the way they wanted.
