I've tended to avoid Vegas on the weekends, because I don't like crowds or high prices. There are times, though, when I want to tack one or two nights on to a visit, and in the past, I've just booked a night at Motel 6. I was curious as to what a room there would cost tomorrow night (Saturday).
$132!!!!! (plus tax, which would be about $17 at that rate)
One hundred and thirty-two dollars.
One hundred and thirty-two dollars.
ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY-TWO MOTHERBLEEPING DOLLARS! FOR A GODDAMN MOTEL 6!!!!!!!! (PLUS TAX!)
More proof that Vegas is in full-blown gouge mode. Man, will visitors get skinned alive this summer! I expect to see $12 tacos and $10 gas next. I suggest that everyone stay the hell away--why get played and stripped naked?
(This bullshit is a major reason I'm taking a quick comp-fueled trip there next week; I think it'll all be an unmitigated ripoff-fest from Memorial Day on.)
Kevin, after reading your trip report again I'm surprised you couldn't beat the Motel 6 price at Arizona Charlie's or South Point. Or did you want the Motel 6 on Tropicana near the breakfast joint (which I can't remember the name of) because of it's proximity to the strip.
