Johnny Smalls all-you-can-eat

Have you taken advantage of the all-you-can-eat at Johnny Smalls? If so, is it worth it?

I love dining with small plates but I'm scratching my head as to how this can be on the top-10 bargains list. Usually appetizers and small plates are priced in the $3-$8 range. Unless you're a glutton I can't see eating more than 3, perhaps 4-5 if they're really small (but then the price should match).

So, 3X$8=$24 or 5x$4=$20. It seems like a fair deal but no top 10 bargain. Am I missing something? If you've been to Johnny Smalls please let me know.

Thanks
absolutely worth it. We did it in Jan during the BCS game Auburn/Ore. The only thing they warned
you is if you asked for something and didn't eat it all, they added that to the tab, so have large pockets
if you stuff yourself or end up not liking something. Hard to imagine not liking something as everything
we tried was to die for. GREAT STUFF!
However, I am a pig and went there right before starting my diet for the year, so after further thought
your financial analysis is pretty good. Great food, should go there starved and ready to pig out
if you want to obain adequate bang for you buck! If you do it right, you won't be small walking out of there!
Thanks Chet.

Been there 3 times. Excellent value and good eats. Service was good 2 times, but terrible the third.
In case anyone is interested, we tried the all-you-can-eat at Johnny Smalls. First, I asked what hours the special was on. They said it was available at all times, perhaps just because it was slow.

Anyway, the food was good, not great. Service was good. It was nice to be able to have lots of different things. However, while this is a good deal, I still don't see how it belongs on the best deals list. With a couple of drinks each the bill came to $86 plus tip.
Better get there quick if you're intent on trying it. It's closing and an Asian restaurant is going in. Many changes planned to the floor as well as the new Prez aims to convert it into a Palms 2. Destruction of playable games and lessening of mailers already off the punch list. Not much reason to go there unless you like loud DB's with daddy's AMEX.
