LVRJ: Report: TPG, Apollo poised to take control of Aliante Station

Just saw this LVRJ news article posted on the vpFREE forum:

I just read that this morning. I guess it shouldn't be a suprise, I just always thought GVR would be in tow. At least this gives the property a chance to thrive. Like most everyplace in town, save a few, that debt service will kill you. It's a beautiful property and I hope it makes it. I wonder how long the operating agreement with Staions lasts? Now, if they can get the golf course across the street back in shape, I'll have to stay there.

Good Luck!

I was hoping Station would have to sell GVR as well

Not that I don't like Station, but the more players in the game the more competition. Since consolidation started back in 2005 with Mirage and MGM merging things have been going downhill for players. We don't need 5 companies running 50 casinos in Vegas.

This is a much older trend than that.

And Mirage merged with MGM in 2000.
