Main Street Comps

It did seem that they were getting a little tighter each trip with comps. This 4 or 5 years ago. This caused me to move on. There a lot of options so they can do what they are happy with and we can do the same. It seemed getting meal comps was more difficult. Mail offers were downgrading also.

Terry, meal comps became more difficult to get when the downtown Boyd properties joined in the B-Connected program. Prior to that, points on your MSS card were not "spendable." You could cash them out, but could not use your card in a restaurant. Hosts wrote discretionary comps, and slot club reps give buffet comps, but these did not come off your points. They were based on your separate "comp account," which was secret -- they would not tell you how it worked.

With B-Connected, you were able to swipe your card in a restaurant and spend your points. And that's what they wanted you to do. They eliminated much of the discretionary comp writing in the process.
I was able to get buffet comps there in April from the slot club folks, even to the seafood buffet on Friday night. If nothing else, it saved me an hour or so waiting in line. One of the attendants even offered that while she couldn't write a comp to 777, from looking at my play (roughly 6K per day, almost all of it at 9/6 jacks), she was certain the host would write me a comp there.

So at least for me - and your mileage may vary - the big downgrade has been in the upfront food comps and the amount of free slot play. And since they have so far still comped my food at the end, the only noticeable drop has been from $75-$100 free play each month to $35.
I've been consistently getting the same offer every month for years now. Four nights, $75 in free play and complimentary meals (Hawaiian Package), which the hosts swap out for a silver card. On a similar note my play has also been consistent there for years as well.

May we ask, what is your level of play and is all on video poker?
My offers at the Boyd properties have tightened to the point I won't be playing at any of their places during my trip next month.
The 2 of us avarage $22,000 per day coin in. Playing DDB Which is only 99 per cent payback.

About 10k per day all on VP. We do mix in some penny slots but so little that it probably doesn't even factor in. Have been playing that level for years with no change in offers.
