He knows how to run a casino. Every time I go there (6-8 times per month) it is packed.
Good restaurants, good video poker, good mailers, good promotions. What else can you ask for?
Funny story. When he was part owner of the Casino Queen and I was a craps dealer, he paid a visit to the boat. I had no idea who he was. This guy wearing this really loudly colored shirt comes past me and behind the tables into the pit. I try to stop him but he keeps right on going. One of the supervisors comes up to me and asks me if I know who that was. I said I have no idea. He says "He owns the place. He can go whereever he wants. You're lucky he didn't fire you". I said "For what? Trying to protect his money?"
I like South Point too...except for their craps table which only offers 2X odds. Thats pretty lousy.
But I hit a nice jackpot on the $1 Big Bang Theory slot machine their last trip =)
Honestly, the GrandView property next door has some of the nicest suites and onsite ammenities in the city and they aren't expensive. You can stay there and play at South Point. Almost no need to go anywhere else.
My wife and I own at the Grandview. We love South Point. We do a lot of traveling back and forth across the street.
