Need Advice Re: Working with a Host at The Cosmopolitan

Despite my last trip being a total bummer gambling wise, I enjoyed my trip, especially my stay at The Cosmopolitan. I definitely want to stay there again during my August/Birthday trip. During this last trip I booked an offer that was 3 comped nights, $300 in FSP and $300 in Food and Beverage credit. Also received a Terrace Studio with fountain view at check in. Would love getting the same room next time if not a one bedroom suite, with a fountain view of course.

I recently received a comped offer through August 31st, though one that's not as good as my first one. It's for 2 comped nights, $50 in Food and Beverage credit and $250 in FSP. I really want to stay there at least three nights, ideally four but at least three. I'm hoping to sandwich my stay at The Cosmopolitan between two CET stays for my total 9 night trip.

You still can't see OR book any offers online on The Cosmopolitan website but when I called the general reservation number, the person with whom I spoke looked at my play and recommended that I speak with a host about getting a better deal.

I really don't like dealing with hosts but would consider doing so if I thought I had a decent chance of getting a third night comped without any strings attached. I did receive a form letter earlier this year from Tony Paoli but have never called him.

Am curious from those who have dealt with hosts at The Cosmopolitan what your experience has been. I like the food credit but I'd take an extra comped day rather than the $50 if I had to do so.

I'm also curious if The Cosmpolitan ever has slot tournaments associated with comped stays or special promos for birthdays, like a special comped meal. If so, I'll be on the lookout for an invitation or possibly ask my host about it.

Thanks in advance for any comments.
I think you answered your own question - "I don't like dealing with hosts".

I have zero experience with Cosmo - but, in general, you get better offers from Marketing, than you do from hosts (but you already knew that).

Also, getting $250 in FSP is pretty sweet - don't know if a host could/would do better.

You can always book that 3rd night, if it ain't too pricey, and see if you can get it comped off at the end.

One last thing - if you come in on a host offer, your play will be looked at more closely, than if you just use the marketing offer.

Hope this helps,

Dave
I'm pulling for you LIL sis!!!! See you in August (just got a $149 NS on SWA for 8/14 (Kim and I)...was $253 yesterday!!!!!!!!!!! Roundtrip $297.60!!!!!!!!!!!!!
IMHO, it's worth a phone call. Sometimes a host can do more than the general reservations person.

Dave, I appreciate what you're saying. I do have a more relaxed feeling when I play if I am there on a marketing offer since I feel like no one is doing me any special favors; the offer is based on past play. But, maybe I will see what a casino rate is like, book an extra night and then based on my play Lisa, then I could talk to a host at that point.

My trip is not until mid-August so I'm going to give it another month and see what else might pop up. I guess the worst that can happen is I don't have a great phone experience with the host and then just decide to do the marketing offer. I will probably give it a try, if anything out of curiousity, hoping I'll be pleasantly surprised.

Big brother, so pumped for you! What a FABULOUS fare! Almost like the fares to Vegas of old. You did good!

We are now both set for flights. (I used Jet Blue points one way but paid $55 for an exit row/window seat) and a $200 United Voucher (for giving up my seat on my trip returning from Vegas in April) + $105 of my own money for a NS flight back from Vegas. So, I spent $160 RT but I'm really happy and I'm NS both ways as well, though out of JFK going and back to Newark returning. Really looking forward to this trip! You'll get to double digits a few days before I do.
One more rooting for Cosmo, and for another reason.

Front desk is exceptional at Check in. I think its worth a call, but think you can Easily upgrade to
a better view room at front desk.........when you KNOW what youre asking for.
Plus, No resort fees.

** Edit! Just called Wynn & found out, you WILL be charged Resort fee on Comp room IF
its Linked to a Pay night. LIke if you Paid one night & then comp on 2.......You get nailed
resort fee on ALL nights.
I'm keeping my Wynn stay, since its Not linked to a Pay night.
I willl say, Wynn Buffet has gone way downhill too.
Cosmo buffet is Great.

Also, Cosmo Best View on the Strip if you ask me. Better views of Bell fountains, than At Bell too.

LUV Cosmo!
I was kinda wondering when CLV might chime in on this!!

We haven't stayed at Wynn ia a few years, but I thought you had the option of the "resort fee" or not - didn't matter if the room was comped or not.

I guess things have changed - that's too bad.

LOVE the Wicked Spoon buffet at Cosmo, too.

Glad to see Cosmo could accomodate you!!

dj- I edited my Wynn paragraph, with newer info. Wynn is still Ok on comp only nights, No resort fees.

O2bnvegas just got nailed on Resort fees plus Tax on ALL her nights, cuz she had her 2 nite Comp stay linked with ONE pay night. Turned out to be an expensive one nighter.

NOW, we know!

CLV - Man, sounds like Wynn is kinda pulling some shit!!

Charging a resort fee on a comp room when you pay for a night - pretty cheesy.

That reminded me of when we stopped by Wynn, where I had earned an additional free buffet, only to learn that the free buffet had "expired". Admittedly, it had been awhile since we've been there (about a year), but it would have been a decent gesture to re-instate the comp.

Instead, we just walked out - a little disappointed, (not the end of the world), and didn't drop a dime in the casino.
Resort Fee $25, Resort Fee Tax $3...I believe that equals a $28 Resort Fee.
Which is worthless.
