Need Advice Re: Working with a Host at The Cosmopolitan

Yes, Wynn does have a resort fee which it doesnt charge if the stay is comped but if any portion is paid for then the fee, for some obscure reason, is applied to all nights, even the comp nights. That being said we had a stay for 2 nights and got a very good casino rate for the third. All told the 3 nights came to less then $200 with everything. Now that comes out to around $67 a night in a beautiful room right in the heart of the strip. Cheaper then a stay at Holiday Inn Express in most places! Still a good deal. BTW check out the smaller (not small) print on some of the Wynn offers. They mention 2 nights in large type but in the smaller type say, depending on date, they may extend to offer to a 3rd comped night.
I don't want to turn this into a Wynn Thread..........but the Takeaway seems to be when dealing
with Wynn.........take your Free nights, and stay somewhere else any other (or paid) nights.

Don't get me wrong, I LIKE Wynn rooms..........but I won't be beholdin' to their " MAYBE" BS, at the end
of my stay. Not to mention the Buffet has gone way down. Buffett comps are hit or miss.

Lastly, Wynn seems to have some serious Tech issues with their Front desk computers AND the Casino!
It all goes Down, all the time. It happened Again. Thats twice I know of in the past few weeks.
HOW can they allow that to happen over & over? Not good.

I've got great news. First I have to say I coincidentally received an email from a host that is different from the one that sent me the letter earlier this year. He asked if I was interested in a VERY expensive "buy in" slot tournament in May -- 5k! -- which was going to be limited to 50 players with $200k in prizes.

I explained that I wasn't interested but would be in Vegas in August for my birthday and said to please keep me posted regarding any events at that time. He promply replied that he would do so and noted my current offer in the system and that he would add a 3rd complimentary night!!! So he offered -- I didn't even have to ask -- and my reservation has been made.

Before he made the reservation I expressed my concern that if I booked this offer I might be blocked from better marketing offers (like with a free tournament!) in the future and he said that would not happen and that if a better offer came along he would just book that instead.

I continue to be impressed with the Cosmopitan and I really like this guy's style. Responsive but not pushy. I am pumped.
I too dont wish to hijack this thread but I may not have been clear.

The offer to extend a third night depends on dates. This is an upfront offer. In many of their promotions they highlight on the calender, or mention in the verbiage, when a third comp night is available. You book it upfront and there is no determination at the end of the stay on the third night.

When we booked the last time it wasnt available and we wished to stay a third night. The reservations people we talked to on the phone were very pleasant, mentioned the resort penalty would apply to even the comp nights and did look for a decent rate for us the third night.

I apologize if this wasnt clear.

FFlower, that's great news. I love it when a trip comes together.
Thanks Lisa and yes, I too love it when a trip comes together. Now I'm just waiting for three more things: first, an offer for two comped nights and 2 comped tix to Celine Dion during August. I received the June promo and I'm hoping I get an August one. If so, I'll be enjoying Celine Dion for the third time and on my birthday.

Second, I hope Summerfest still takes place and that they'll be a tournamennt during my stay.

Lastly, I hope there's a Palace or RR slot tournament during my stay.

Keeping fingers crossed!

Got a postcard from the P.S. for June and July. Thers a slot tourney every other week in those months. 50/50 chance that you and/or I will be in luck!

P.S. Be sure you get 2 beds at the Cosmo! I'm crashing there 1 night for sure (just so I can say I "Stayed at the Cosmo" when I get back to my home Casino/poker room )
Will do!
Real nice work with the comps Double F. Good luck on your trip!

Now my wife insist we stay at The Cosmopolitan too, in August. All I'm seeing is $160 per night, Does anyone have a tip for something better than $160 per?

Thank you very much.

Tommy
Thanks Tommy! No great advice about room rates though that does seem high as it's more than some good rates at V/P and Wynn/Encore. Maybe weekday rates will come down as you closer to your trip. Good luck!
