Need Help-SP or Silverton

Help please. Going in April and on a budget. Looking at South Point and the Silverton. Can't find much on Silverton here. The Silverton is a little more expensive but things like the pool look similar. Will have a car so that is not an issue. Haven't been to Vegas in a few years so any help would be great!
If you play VP then South Point is the best. If you like to get good offers the Silverton is the best. I like Silverton restaurants much better, but some would argue different. South Point has a much larger pool. I give South Point the edge in Rooms. South Point has a LOT more to do (movies, bowling etc...).
kccollie: What kiwiboy says is true. Silverton has a Bass Pro Shop connected (if you are in to hunting and fishing). We try to stay 2-3 nights at each place, each trip ( I would suggest you do that on first trip to see place you would prefer to call your home base) EACH HAS ITS OWN PROS AND CONS.
I think the SP restaurants are outstanding, with a choice of prime rib, steak, Mexican, and Italian restaurants, all of which I have eaten at and never had a bad meal in five trips.

So I booked a room at South Point using the 30% on the website and as soon as I clicked back there is a huge ad for a 72 hour online room sale in 4 days.
If it's cheaper, call and have them rebook it with the cheaper rate.
The 72 hour sale is on. It would have saved me $1.00 per night only from the sale they previously had on the website. Thanks to all for the help.
SP hands down. Everything is much better. Gaughn knows how to run a casino/hotel.
I did like as mentioned try 2 nights at each. When I was a Silverton customer I tried it this way. I still will mix it up depending on offers. But most now 1 day at Silverton due to better VP at SP. Both are decent enough. So should be a good plan either way.

I prefer the Silverton only because South Point is too cookie cutter for me - but both are good. Silverton has Starbucks Coffee comped which goes great with a shot of Bailey's. That by itself makes me like staying there.

Take a look at Eastside Cannery and Sunset Station. They also have cheap rooms that are newer and nicely appointted.
