New Stations Program: It Stinks

Quote

The Palms has removed all of their good VP, by the way. Stations still have plenty of good games. And 6-point days are still better than what you get at other casinos, for the most part.

I guess that depends on what you call good. I think most players would consider 9/6 Jacks a "good" game. Same with 99.73% NSU. They still have 100.17% Double Bonus up to dollars. Are the purple 99% banks at Stations "not good VP?" Yes, Palms unfortunately pulled their quarter Full-Pay Deuces progressive, along with some of the other 100% games, but I think "Palms has removed all their good VP" is worthy of correction.

You can make up for a LOT of hours of play at a lesser (but still good) pay table with $160 in free play and $40 in food like I've been getting from the Palms for far less coin in than the $10 I sometimes get from Stations for far more play (Platinum). $25 from Fiesta this month but I would have to go over there 5 times to collect it.
This last trip I spent an afternoon at GVR (6x point day) and noticed they had alot more FP DDB machines at the $ level. But it still isn't comparable to RR where almost all their machines are FP DDB...and they are all slant tops. Didn't notice any of the 99+ signs at RR. I stay away from the positive machines due to their poor return on points (1% just does not seem to be that big of deal to me).
Got a mailer today with the two 2 free bufs on it, good thru end of Feb. Since my next trip is end of March, I'll have to wait for the next mailing on the coupons. Offer was only $50 free play (same as last time), but my host seems to have no problem increasing it for me. This last trip ended up with a total of 8 free bufs between my wife's and mine...only used 6 since the fancy dinners were on RR.

I get lots of mail offers from ST, but getting a host to give me the time of the day seems to be impossible. Being an emerald doesn't get you a whole lot there (my status points have stayed above 500,000 for the last 14 months). And with their significant decrease in machines I'm starting to loose my interest in ST. Do have them scheduled for the first 3 nights of my next visit with a silver card and $125 FP, but I'm not overly excited about it.

At $500,000 coin in it's only $5,000. But I totally get your point. When you're making .60% on double point days vs only .15% on the >100% machines the lines start to blur.

But status points accrue at the same 1:$1 rate so that's nice for the 100% players.
