New venetian/palazzo offer

I haven't stayed at Palazzo in about two years since they've stopped offering free rooms. Today, I get an offer in the mail. Three complimentary nights (based on availability, of course) and $45 in table match play. The deal runs through September 9th. Now, I just got back from Vegas a few weeks ago, so I'm not planning another trip for awhile. Just wondering what the catch is. I did notice the small print which says there's a $20 a day resort fee.
The answer is in your first line, you havent stay there in 2 years. Most of these places will periodically go through and send offers to folks who havent been for awhile in hopes of luring them back. One thing about the Venetian/Palazzo though which turns folks off is sometimes, in small print, they say offer is based on player doing traditonal play. If that isnt the case here then really no catch. Much as we dont like having to pay a $20 resort fee ($60 for the three nights) is really not a bad deal.

Like you, I have stayed away, and recently have been getting some very attractive offers.
The catch has been the fine print that says the offer is conditioned on maintaining your historical level of play.

Over the last two years I have done a real change in my games of choice. To avoid confusion, I thought it best to talk with the host whose name was on the mailer.

After 5 minutes of negotiating and haggeling I gave up. It became very clear that the play would be examined, but I couldn't get comfortable that I would not be hasseled at check out.

Example, "we would expect you to average $250 per hand at blackjack for four hours per day" What if I play Ultimate Texas holdem? Well, for that we need $200 per hand? Really, the Wynn only need $100 per hand. OH, was that for Sun to Thursday. Well was the BJ number mid week. No that was for Sat night.
What about the BJ number was that mid week. No that is anytime. What if I play in a poker Tournament and get the poker room rate for Sat. am I allowed to play blackjack after the tournament, or do I need to get into a mid week tournament.

Forget it.

I had a similar discussion with the Wynn, but the host was at least very straightfoward about what they wanted.

Bellagio and the other MGM properties have been very good over the past year and somewhat lenient about the play. Never a hard time at check out, or the demeaning "lets review your play " conversation.
I had a 3 night offer that I used in June. Had a great time!

I was a bit concerned about the small print, so asked point blank at the Grazie desk what would happen if I did not meet my prior play requirement.

It took a bit to get to the answer I was looking for- which was that I would be in no danger of having to pay for my rooms, but that I might not receive any more offers.

Well, though I did manage to put through enough to meet those requirements, it was good to be told that I wouldn't be in jeopardy of having to pay in any case.

Also, I asked about the resort fee at checkin, and was told that I had the option of refusing it, which I did.

I am anxiously awaiting an offer now for Sept. Deb
