NYNY losing their minds?

I received this offer online from NYNY:

It clearly says RFB in the offer, but when I called and booked it VIP services said the food & beverage was based on play. WTF?! So I contacted a host to see what's going on. Here's her response:

"The offer that you are coming in under ( DS1105A1) does not include any food and beverage comps. So your food and beverage comps will be based on you playing past the nts comped. Also I see that you have 4 other stays planned at other MGM Properties before you come to NYNY. If you arrive here over comped from these other stays then you will need more play to get food and beverage."

What is going on there? Has anyone else had something like this show up in their offer that the people at NYNY apparently can't see?
It's RFB as long as you have enough comps built up.

Very frustrating!!
Yes, it is! They can kiss my behind if they're going to play the game THAT way!
Bean counters hard at work again. Devious ba$--rds. Of course you could take advantage of the 3 nights in a suite, the limo, lounge and $300 in free play. I know I would.

The suite is just a spa suite -- pretty much a regular room. I don't need the limo since we drive in, and have no clue if the lounge is worth anything. I would love to take the $300 free play, but with this kind of bull$hit they're pulling I won't give the property a dime of play, so I know they'd charge me the resort fee. I refuse to pay a resort fee.
Mare, I have stayed twice under the exact same offer. Here's how it went both times:

1. Fine print said RFB depended on comp balance
2. When I booked they made a big deal about it again
3. When I checked in they mentioned it again
4. I charged everything to the room and each night it came off, like RFB is meant too (I did about $150 in food).

I think about it this way, you don't have to go to a host to get your food comped it comes off straight away. Any left over would need a discretionary comp. I figure NYNY works at about a 1% comp rate.

What is interesting is that I am now downgraded to LFB, same cash though. I would recommend going for the $300 anyway and seeing how much food comes off (i.e. don't over do it). Use 1% as a guide.

And yes, my first reaction was exactly what yours was "Don't they understand what RFB means!". Well they don't New rules, new game.
To add insult to injury arent the decent paying machines, like 9/6 JOB exempt from earning any credits and in fact the machines have no slot for a players card?
Mare, the offer I'm coming in on is worded differently than yours.

It does not mention a limo. Hey, the only offer MGM sends me that includes one is MC
and that one just came recently. Just had to mention that again. I use a rental anyway
but it's still nice to be offered one.

Anyway, back to this topic.

This is why I talk to these people (meaning hosts et al.) as little as possible.

Anyway, here's what I would do:

Go in there as planned. If you get grief from them show them the offer you received and
tell them "the document speaks for itself."

Others here say there's a fine print clause saying something about this all depends on your comp balance.

I looked at mine again and the only fine print pertinent to this discussion is where it says:

MGM Resorts International reserves the right to cancel or modify this offer at its discretion and
without prior notice." LOL

Hey, that's regular boiler plate stuff I see on everything including burial plots. LOL

BTW, my suite offer better not be just an enlarged room or I'm checking out and moving to another property.

I forgot to ask when I called. I guess I'll call them again to make certain.
I hate untoward surprises!

You know, this is getting to be a lot more trouble than it's worth.

I like these trips to go smoothly.

I wonder why NYNY is so different from other MGM properties?

jjjjjjjjj makes a very good point, and yes it is starting to sound like its more trouble than its worth. lol

I would still DO IT, and burn the 300 FP, and do whatever else you want to do.

Mare, you already got an Ace in the hole. If you get any grief at NYNY, just have Marcy on speedial,
and either get her to give them a ration..........or tell the check in person, you are staying elsewhere!

(This scenario works best when you've doubel-booked offers.) LOL

Thanks for the input, everyone. I finally got the email offer today. Here is the offer:

It's the fine print you have to read, though: "Comps are based on play during current trip."

I'd love to take the $300 free play and burn them, but I think I'd probably have a problem getting them to even LOAD my free play onto my card after the stiffing/low playing I plan to give them on other MGM Resorts offers before then. I think I'll be canceling this rezzie.
