NYNY losing their minds?

I wasn't even aware that MGM was in the used car business! Sorry, I appologize to anyone in the used car business.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the input, everyone. I finally got the email offer today. Here is the offer:

It's the fine print you have to read, though: "Comps are based on play during current trip."

I'd love to take the $300 free play and burn them, but I think I'd probably have a problem getting them to even LOAD my free play onto my card after the stiffing/low playing I plan to give them on other MGM Resorts offers before then. I think I'll be canceling this rezzie.

Mare, I got a similar offer to the one above.

However, it did not say, "spa suite." It just said, "suite." LOL

It did mention you could use the offer twice a month for several months just like yours.

It did not have the wording concerning the food comp about dining at any restaurant you want
like yours. It just said, "unlimited food allowance" was the phrasing they used, I think.

No limo (once again LOL).

The fine print was like the one I mentioned earlier about how they can cancel an offer at their discretion or
whim or whatever. LOL

Nothing mentioned about, "Comps are based on play during trip." LOL

It did say, "ADDITIONAL comps were based on play during trip."

You know, I have never had a problem with MGM Resorts except that Bellagio Players Chip
thing I had a few months back which was straightened out and made up for on my next visit.

Hey, if you don't go how will I know what to expect? LOL

I guess it looks like I'm the guinea pig this time around, right? LOL

I could double book but I hate doing that.

If things go badly I'll go into my dumb guy routine. My wife says it comes very natural to me.

That always works except when it does not. LOL

I'm certain your offer is a much higher offer than mine, Jerry, and they won't screw with you!

I did have an email conversation with the host and told her my concerns. She said she hears me and is sending my email to the VP of marketing.

I hope more people complain about this new policy. An offer that is written to appear like an upfront comp, but truly isn't an upfront comp is unethical, in my opinion.
Watch them pull ALL their Comp offers like Ven/Pal. (can't get used to that one)

All this writing were having to do, to these Execs. Doesn't anyone know what they're doing anymore?

I really don't think they do.........

They think by tightening everything the bottom line is going to be better. We, the lemmings, will follow whatever they do. I am very glad we have put the Venetian in our rearview mirror and were thinking of giving MGM properties some play but if they do that to Mary then what would they do to a mid level player. This all is so mid boggling but the cycle I am sure will turn if their better players stop playing. Mare let us know what is going on, it is very interesting..............Rick
Rick -- I'm a mid-level player, too.

I just hope that enough people complain to make them see how stupid they're being. But then again, it's a small percentage of players that really keep up on things via forums like these, so most will just be sheep and follow whatever they do.

I told the host to cancel my reservation, so this whole thing is probably over with at this point. I kinda doubt I'll get any feedback from her sending my email to the VP of marketing. Unfortunately.
Mare,

Glad you noticed the "conditional offer"

That's the "fine print" that was in the offer we used a few months ago. As I mentioned in another thread - it took much heated debate for them to actually honor the food comps (we did play but at a neighbouring MGM prop) but they insisted we cover the "resort fees"!!! I felt quite annoyed by the whole incident.

Hopefully Jerry will have better results.

Terry -- I'm sorry they put your through that. How ridiculous to make any gambler pay the resort fee. I'm just not going to take the chance with them.

Jerry plays a lot bigger than me, so I doubt he'll have any problems. UNLESS he plays at another casino! NYNY does really seem to have a problem with that.

Mare, as I mentioned earlier, I spoke with a lady, I think her name was Johanna (sic).

She said I can play at other MGM properties and there would be no problems.

BTW, I'm coming down with what feels like the flu. Hey, I had my flu shot in September.

What gives? LOL

Maybe it's a strain not in their flu shot mix?

BTW, I also just came from MGM's new and improved site...they make it appear
like the new cards and stuff are better so we shall see. The site itself is slicker but
I see my offers have gone down in number. All the properties are there and most of
the comps are OK, but instead of like 4 offers from MGM, now there's only 2.

Also, there's one from Aria where everything is good but then they have another one
from Aria where they are only comping Sunday-Thursday.

Duh, which one do they think I would choose. LOL

This is one of the things they have left intact. Smart people, yes? LOL

I think I'll just go by the mailers and/or the emails as always.

They give a cleaner presentation in those.

This may be my only stay at NYNY.

I hope I'm not making a big mistake.

This stuff reminds me of my stay at MB years ago.

The difference being I went in there without knowing what crappy personnel they had.

They're probably all gone by now. This was way before MGM acquired them.

If I don't write a TR about my stay at NYNY, I'll still let you know how it went.
